I'm confused! I thought to get lean especially for bodybuiding comps or fitness you need to do cardio to get lean?
 
Yes, some cardio is necessary for most, but too much or too intense a workload will be counterproductive. I still believe that more can be done with diet and less with cardio to a point. Furthermore, the most important issue is to be able to lift heavy as long as possible before a show, within reason. When the cardio starts to impair the lifting, you start to lose muscle and further slow the metabolism.

Hrdbd.. When was the last time you took a week off from training? Could be that you are over trained.. Try taking a week or 2 off. I know its hard, but it will be worth it. Your body needs to rest every 2-3 months.
 
well it looks like i have been overtraining,i know im going to get yelled at for this one,,,,,,,,,,but i have been working out 7days a week for a very very long time,,,,,,iknow its all in my head,, i know i need to take days off and rest,, but i just cant do it,,, i try and i try but i always end up going to the gym,, Sundays are the only days i do JUST cardio,,,,,,,,i dont know what to do,, i have been trying to eat more,,,hahah maybe i should be going to a shrink instead of the gym,hahahh :p

Why would you want to be any more lean?? Ive seen your pics...you are soooo lean already....your body is not responding well b/c there isnt much fat left (if any) Ditto what the others said - take a week off (and go see a shrink, lol) then concentrate of weights when you come back.....you dont have anything else to lose dear!!

Two choices for HBG.

1) Take time off and heed our advice. OR

2) Continue as you are, feel like shit, lose muscle, get fatter, either get injured or sick or both, burn out and be forced to see a shrink to get your head and ass wired back together.

Your choice.

Holy shit ... take some time off... at least a week. When you go back, just do 5 days.

I do 5 days wieghts and cardio on 4 days then just cardio on the 5th. Thats plenty... especially if you are not taking anything.

Always remember..you do not build muscle in the gym, you break it down in the gym...you build it up when you rest.
 
W6, you posted pics of an awesome client of yours for her bb comp. If I remember correctly, she did 3 days higher carbs, 2 days lower w/half hour cardio sessions while lifting heavy. Would you recommend that type of schedule to try and get leaner but not comp lean?
