Ok, the other night when I was doing deadlifts... a guy came up to me and asked me if they worked my lower back...

I couldn't help by smile and I told him they worked EVERYWHERE... he told me that he had problems with his lower back always getting sore... during work, and his workouts... kinda something similar to the way mine used to be before Deadlifts strengthened my back....

I went through and showed him how to do them with the bar and told him to start with lower weights until he feels comfortable with the motion -- as i had just gotten done doing 405... i didn't want someone who has never attempted them to start off with alot of weight. :)

WEELLLL tonight, while I was doing the WS speed benching... the SAME guy approached me and said this "Hey, you gave me that advice on the deadlifts... tried them last night and MAN my back felt it... I saw you doing this quick shit last week... I thought you was crazy... what is it?" --- heh ... finally... someone ASKING me what I'm doing rather than saying "Doood that's bad form!" :)

I told him about how my bench got stagnant and I picked this up from a friend... explained the process too him and he seemed interested...

I'm making friends!! *tear* :)

Beastboy -- really? In what way are you not sure how to approach the bar?

Too much shoulder rotation I guess when I bench. I feel way too much stress and can't seem to fix it. I had the AC surgery, and am unsure if should ever attempt BB again. Hell, I still can't flat bench with Db...all my work is DB incline.

beastboy.. you can avoid shoulder rotation by changing your bench form by tucking your elbows and bringing the bar low on your sternum or upper abs.. I used to have a lot of shoulder discomfort when benching till i switched to powerlifting form like this....

I agree with Darty... I use the "powerlifter" bench form... I bring my hands in a little closer, lock my shoulderblades together, put a natural curve in my back... tuck my elbows... and boom... my shoulders have had no stress off flat bench.

So a lift off from a partner is pretty much definately needed to keep that form and blades pinned?

Not really... Spatts had a video a while back and a in depth explination of the form...

I just squeeze my shoulder blades together and unrack the bar... it's less stress on your shoulder when you take it off with your elbows in and a closer grip...
