Eating before bed

I see other sources recommending that you eat your last meal 2 or 3 hours before bed,but I get the impression here that some are eating later than that. What's the closest I can come, and what type of food?
This is pretty important to me because I have perfect days but then can't keep from eating something right at bedtime.

I eat before bed almost everynight. Carbs and all! But Im in a mass building stage. If you are cutting I would suggest a protein shake with 10-20g of healthy fats like flax oil and about 10-15g of fiber. Go for a slow digesting protein source like cassein, casseinates or whole milk proteins. the fiber and the healthy fats will slow down your digestive system making sure you get a slow and steady release of protein all night.

Yeah that not eating before bed crap is so old. I eat right before i go to bed and i've been losing weight for about 6 weeks now.

It is not WHEN you eat it, it is WHAT you eat.

Most people eat about 30min before bed to avoid catabolism.

The pre-bed meal should be a mix of protein and fat only.

i have to eat right before bed or i'll wake up about 3 hours into my sleep starvin , like daisy said its what u eat that matters :)

I'm dieting right now, but even when I'm not it's always lean red meat or chicken, a casein protein shake with no carbs, and flax oil or natural pb.
