dropping a weight class

Hi fellas!! Just letting everyone know, i was close to throwing in the towel!! My health wasnt real good, i was weighing around 260, my heart rate was 100+ blood pressure, 165/90..and i got out of breath just slowly walking....I got a little worried, so i decided to diet, added in some cardio, and was doing bb type training, nobody kill me for useing the bb word, i was still going heavy, well, today i weighed 251, tried my strength a little, and ill be damned, i didnt lose anything!!!! Im just going to drop to 242!! What i did was actually started eating more, but cleaner! And added in 30 minutes of cardio, 4 days a week..didnt hurt my strength at all, my heart rate is back down to 65..bp was 110/65!! and still strong!! And the ol' abs are back!!! WOO_HOO...i cant give up the powerlifting...im like a fish out of water with out it!! Hey PLJAY..we can battle it out at 242 bro!!!

hmmm i wonder what would happen if i did this. sometimes, but only at night, i have a hard time breathing. its like i cant inhale enough air. and i've been informed today by a chick that i've gotten a bit chunkier the last couple months. but i wouldnt wanna risk losing any strength..ill check my weight tomorrow
 
nice.. you probably wont lose much strength.. I weighed 138 and dropped down to the 132's, and all together i lost 9 lbs, and i lost maybe 30lbs off my total, some was just due to not thinking, not actual strength loss.

So at your weight, dropping 10 lbs should really have much effect on you.. and its alright you used the "BB" word, you'll be forgiven in time. Also, maybe the cardio will help your GPP and allow you to recover quicker.

Just a thought. Glad to hear you are in better health. I was around 230 feeling a bit sluggish, making my doctor nervous with my blood pressure. . . and damned if I ain''t still there.

Actually I have been keeping my weight as close as I can to 220 since my last meet, and although I am hungry pretty much all the time, I am not out of breath so much, and feel a little lighter on my feet.

I am hoping to put on enough muscle this winter to justify a move to the 242's but with guys like Musclehead and PowerlifterJay at 242, maybe I need to keep my narrow ass in the 220's.

Seriously, glad to hear about the improved health. We'd like to keep you around for a while.

You did it the right way by eating more with just cleaner food.
Looks like me and PLJAY will both battle you in competition.
Anyways congrats on a good successful diet, and to a better health.

And I did not in any way forget the Freak at 242, I just hoped he would have the decency to stick with the juniors, at least until I get to the submasters.

and you forgot Deciever at 148 (yup , thats right im movin up)... and dont think i wont jump up to 242's and show all you big guys how to really lift :)
 
My plan is to take the next couple of months to pull my weight down to either the 148's or 165's. I want to meet Deciever & IRBD in these weight classes so we can get it on. I'm ready to rumble! I will be tallest in my weight class but I will also exhibit a "wirey" strength that cannot be contained.

I have thrown the gauntlet on the ground. Who will accept my challenge? All comers are welcome to meet me in the designated weight classes. I will not be stopped and I cannot be contained. All will fall. There can be only ONE! :bigbuck:
 
hehe, i accept your challenge.. under one stipulation...
For every inch difference in height, i get 50lbs added onto my total.

Once again you have opened my eyes. I have been thinking about this whole thing the wrong way. If I was in the 148's I would be putting up some decent numbers, at least till the bar hit the floor, then I would still get my ass handed to me.

Wirey strength. I almost shot frosted mini wheats out my nose.
