I use a Smith machine because I train to failure in my home gym and appreciate the added safety it provides. Is it perfect?.......no, and neither is anything else but it does serve a purpose.
I'm thinking about using the smythe for high pin press. Can't adjust the pins on the power rack in my gym to be able to do a higher pin press, so just gonna give it a shot with smythe to improve my lockout.

Same here, I wandering about using it to hit tri's with hi pin presses, so stabalisers arnt an issue and I doubt the fixed route of the bar would be an issue with such a short ROM...
