Do you count your PWO shake as a meal?

I have been trying to bulk by eating 6 meals a day, but am I supposed to count my PWO shake of protein, dextrose and maltodextrin (approximately 400 cals) as one of my six meals, or should I drink my PWO shake on top of the other 6 meals?

6 or 7 meals doesn't matter. If youre going strictly for size, then have the PW shake and fit as many other feedings in as you can/
 
Right. So if I usually have six meals and I know I will be forced to skip a meal for whatever reason, then I should try and eat twice the usual amount in the previous meal, correct?

You're making this WAY too complicated bro.

Figure out how many calories you need to be consuming each day, then figure out how many times you want to eat, and do the math. 5 meals vs. 6 meals vs. 7 meals, who cares.
 
Count it because its still calories going in. If you know that you absolutely can't help missing a meal and can't snack, then up a couple other meals, or all of them together. It's best to evenly distribute cals (why many of us eat try to eat 6-7 meals opposed to 3 giant ones) so that your body can efficiently use them.

Your body will use basically anything you give it.

More meals vs. less is more about appetite control than anything. If you're waiting 6 hours between meals, you'll probably be VERY hungry, and more likely to overeat.
 
WHO CARES if it's 6 meals or 16. It's calories! Count the cals and move on


btw - pw shakes are extremely overrated if the rest of your day is on point.
