Do I just have a slow metabalism?

I have been on a pretty strict protien diet for a little over a week now, except I have oatmeal in the moarning and that has carbs. I am doing at least 2 30min cardio workouts a day, 1 in moarning and 1 after school. I am eating 5 small meals a day, 1 meal would be like 1 cup of oatmeal, or 1 can of albacore tuna. Also all I am drinking is water. I am never hungry, and dont apear to be cuting any fat. Should I maybe go pic up one of those products that claims to speed up your metabolism? I saw them at max muscle and they were pretty overpriced but if it will help me then I am willing to pay it... As for my stats im 6'0 weight 165 and I am probably between 10-15% body fat but I dont know how to measure that. I would like to get down to about 6-8%, then I want to start the heavy lifting. I am still lifting as much as I was before the diet, so I dont think that my body is eating at my muscle but I don't really know how to tell. Please someone let me know if you think im doing something wrong, I am not even taking any shakes right now or anything let me know what I should do.

Bobby.

Patience grasshopper. You need to give the diet more than a week before you start noticing much. Keep doing what you're doing. Worry about the fat burners later. You don't need them much at your age anyway.

Protein shakes are a great way to up your protein intake though. Find yourself a low carb, low calorie shake and add one a day into your diet. Also, I think two thirty-minute cardios per day is a bit much. I think you'll get better results doing a full hour every other day.

But that's about all you need to do for now. Keep doing what you're doing bro, it'll happen.

Thanks man, as for the shakes there is a Max Muscle store next to my house but there pretty expensive... could I get it at a supermarket or somewhere else for cheaper maybe? Also my friend said he is takinh whey protien, does it matter what type I get really? Thanks for the help people :mix:

Whey protein is fine. And yeah, it can be expensive. But if you look at it in terms of how many meals you can get out of it, it's not that bad.

There are a couple online stores that a lot of the boys like. Proteinfactory.com is one, there are others. Maybe some of the other bros can list some good sites for you. Might be able to get it cheaper that way.

Also will it really be better for me to do only a few days a week cardio and an hour sessions then if I were to do an hour session everyday? I am willing to work off the fat I want to cut fast and get a pack for the ladies... also I am having trouble with an abb routine... what kinda of excercises should I be doing that target abs? Thanks for the help everyone.

Bobby.. 30 + 30 does not = 60... You will burn much more fat if you do 1 60 minute cardio session in the morning instead of the 2 30 minute sessions; There is a good thread about this somewhere.

Try the 60 minute session on an empty stomach first thing in the morning.. you will be pleasantly surprised.

good luck

Ok thanks guys I think I really was going about this the wrong way... today I did a 50min cardio session (30min on excercise bike 20min in pool doing laps) and I like the results I came out looking good. If I can do a 60min cardio everyday or like 5 days a week is that ok or to much? I am willing to put in the time just want to make sure its gunna help me.

I think you don't need to do that more than say four days a week at most. You're thinking that doing an hour of cardio every day is twice as good for you as 3 or 4 days a week. It doesn't work that way.

Too much cardio will cut into your muscle growth. Rest is as important as anything in weightlifting. So stick to the cardio 3-4 days a week. You'll be fine.
