Different kind of back pain

while doing bb curls today, I had felt a click, or a small snap in what seemed like one of my lower small ribs. at first I didn't think nothing of it, but now I experience a small pain when I try to stretch and reach my toes. I think I had felt this earlier, it had felt like a pulled lat, but now I am thinking it is a more serious injury.

anyone know what a bruised or broken rib feels like?

I dont have any experience with broken bones, but most people i have talked to say that it is very painful, and that you WOULD KNOW if it was broken. So, if the pain is not too bad, i wouldn't worry about it being borken, but definately get it checked out since it is hurting you a bit.

go see a doc, they may try and feel the rib to see if there is any tenderness or breaks along it :)
 
Funny thing about muscles in your back; you can strain or pull them with even the slightest wrong movement. I used to get it every now and then simply by taking a step down off a stair.

If it persists for more than a week, or if you're in real constant pain, I'd get it checked out. If not, I'd wait it out a while and see if it improves. My guess is that it will clear up on it's own.
 
gt is right. Just keep an eye on it for a while. I really doubt its a rib. If its a rib, touching it will hurt, breathing sucks, and coughing is kinda like being shot. Its probably just one of those things. :)
 
thanks for your input, gents. today I did fairly heavy atf squats, and I had no problem. I totally forgot about the pain after I had created this thread. I will see in a week, if the pain(more like a discomfort) is still existing, then I will get it checked out.
