Can someone tell me how much calories I need to consume while dieting? .. that is... per pound of BW. I currently weight about 170.
Reason i'm asking is cuz I just wrote up a diet and I want to know If i'm consuming too much/too little.

Age: 21
170lbs
16% bf (goal is 180/ <12% bf)

Supplements: Green Tea Extract(2caps 2xday)/Thermorexin(3/day)/Sesapure(twice daily)/Multi vitamin in morning/two fish oil caps in morning.

Meal 1 - 8am: 434 Calories/61 protein/30 carb/10 fat
5 eggs (1 whole, 4 white)
1/2 cup oatmeal
Protein Shake

Meal 2 - 11am: 372 calories/69 protein/1 carb/16 fat
Salad w/ 8oz chicken breast

Meal 3 - 2:30pm: 489 calories/66protein/9carb/18 fat
8oz steak w/ cup string beans

Meal 4 - 5:30pm: 428 calories/69 protein/15carb/16 fat
8oz chicken breast
orange

workout 7-9pm
Meal5: PW shake : 180 calories/36protein/4carb/3fat
(should I add more carbs to this?)

Meal 6: 11pm (bedtime) 270 calories/40 protein/7 carbs/11 fat
Protein shake w/ Natty PB

Total: 2172 calories/ 345protein/ 62 carb/ 58 fat
65% 10% 25%


Now this is just a rough draft.. i suppose. Been doing this for two days now. Only problem I can see is that i'm consuming too much protein? and me carb/fat ratio is bad with too much fat? Am i right or wrong?
Any input will be helpful.. thanks.

Dieting can mean many things ... please clarify :) Your goal leads me to believe you want to add muscle, with minimal fat gain... supp chioce at good :)

Salad w/ 8oz chicken breast Maybe add another carb source here? small Sweet Potato, Brown rice? etc... salad ... I'd opt for mixed greens/spinach mixture ... any dressing? Low cal is good...

Meal 3 - 2:30pm: 489 calories/66protein/9carb/18 fat
8oz steak w/ cup string beans Again another place to add a carb source .... or even a healthy fat? I prefer not to eat a complex carb & fat in the same meal while cutting ... bulking, different story


Meal 4 - 5:30pm: 428 calories/69 protein/15carb/16 fat
8oz chicken breast

Based on your goal, some people may recommend 1.5-2.0 X your BW ... try cutting portions down to 6 oz & see what figures you get, add some good carbs for energy, and some healthy fats... the #'s will tweak to get you a good base...


Water? How much do you drink?

Cheat meals.... any?

Alcohol? Do you drink ?

What carbs.. should I add some whole wheat bread or pita somewhere?
For fats.. the fishoil caps and natty PB isn't enough? How about some nuts during the day?

Drink 1.5-2 gallons a day
cheat meals... only on weekends
alcohol? drink or two on the weekends..
