Hey Ladies,

I forgot my ear buds this morning and am distracting myself during morning cardio... TG4EF

Figured I'd follow suit and finally start my own thread. I have 15 weeks before I compete, but I want to step on stage with a rocking physique.

Have been "prepping" in some form or another really since August, although I'm a lifelong fitness junkie. That being said, I'm not without my challenges. As I recently told a buddy, left to my own devices I would eat enough for someone who weighs 100 lb more than I do ;)

Also, like anyone else I have the regular life stresses and sometimes let these derail me. To get where I want to be I'm committing to staying focused... Eyes on the prize.

Anyway, I think for now this thread will just be a daily check in to log whether I'm hitting my cardio, lifting and macro goals.

Today's lift is legs, which I'm totally loving lately, but I'm gonna have to sneak away from work at noon to get it in -- that's what leggings under a skirt is for -- I'm working a 16 h day 4 days this week. Gotta pay the bills!! Fortunately cardio will be done in 5, 4, 3....

Thanks for tuning in!

AWWW! now i'm blushing!

This morning my phone was dead, so that's two days in a row of cardio without music. Torture ;)

Actually, I look forward to my cardio workouts these days. That's where I sweat out all the stress! Whew

Anyway, today is supposed to be a non-lifting day. I REALLY want to, because I have to work late on Friday and all day Sunday, but I have been trying not to lift more than 3 days in a row without a day off.

I had a good leg workout yesterday, killed arms the day before and shoulders before that, so I'm pretty physically ready for a day off. Just have to focus on keeping my diet clean.

And find time to squeeze in some abs for Slat ;p

Just trying to carve out a killer six pack. I don't really care if the judges like it or not -- I want it either way!

Thank you guys for keeping an eye on this thread!

xo

Kill that shit gurl!

I know you've probably said this before but are you doing figure?? I have that short term memory disorder. ;)

I think you're looking great too and in a great position for prepping.

Lol! I have been back and forth, so it's not your fault. I'm aiming for figure with a back up in bikini (if I don't hold onto enough muscle -- I'm not using any anabolics so this has been a real challenge this go round)

For now I'm working on both posing forms and will be open to suggestion as things start to shape up. That's why I started the cut so far out, tho -- I think I have about 8-10 lb to lose for figure and I have over 15 weeks so I'm hoping I can do it without any muscle loss at all!

Thanks for your positive vibes, CG. You are such a motivator!

I am so glad that you started a thread!! I think you look fantastic and are off to an amazing start!! I can't wait to follow your progress!!

Doesn't cardio without music or some type of entertainment suck!!!?! I can't barely do it without my music!!

I'm so excited about this thread it's great the build up to you kicking arse in that comp. you can do it sista

Time to make the donuts ;)

Donna, this is what I mean by the "wake up" comment... we are all working out and posting at different times so there's always something going on in here ;)

Off to do cardio. Burn baby, burn.

Yesterday's food was very clean except for some diet rootbeer (WTF?). I am a little sick tho and water was tasting funny. How's that for an excuse?

So when you are cutting what is your calorie intake and how much cardio are you doing?

Haha great excuse chic !
Yeah I see what you mean how there's always something going on see us Brits are useful sometimes! Haha

Hey Jennifer!

So, this question has a really complicated answer (sorry!) and I am sure it's not what you're looking for but I'm gonna go ahead and do my best (while still trying to get work done at work...lol!):

First of all, I don't really count calories anymore. I think there are situations in which it can be useful but mostly I just follow my meal plan, which my trainer and I decide on. This may sound kind of brainless but I need the structure designed by someone other than me in order to keep me from being crazy about it. It's not that I can't design a diet (I do it for other people all the time)... I just stay saner when I don't design my own.

Why do you ask? You need a meal plan?

Cutie..
A meal plan would be like a Christmas present to me!! So yes I would definitely and proudly take one if you have the time. Zed has me on a great lifting program and I'm seeing great results. I struggle with always wanting to do cardio thinking it will
Help me stay lean but I'm learning that too much of that causes us to lose muscle. So I need to dial in my diet to compensate. Make sense? By looking at my little arm pics I posted up what are your thoughts? I see the muscle but I keep thinking I need to lean out more BUT I want huge muscles!! I think I'm demented.
Any thoughts? I would love your feedback and would make my day (week) to have a meal plan!! Yay...hands rubbing together! I'm so excited!!! THANK YOU!!!

Check in: ok, I did my cardio this morning and had breakfast as planned, but kind of overindulged with my morning snack.

It was supposed to be chicken but I can't look at it right now so I picked up some 98% lean ground bison yesterday. I broiled the patties (burger style) this morning and they stank to high heaven (so foul! I hope my apartment doesn't smell like that when I get home -- I left the window open!), but then I tried one at meal 2 and ended up eating both of them! ;p

I'm a little over-full now, but I'm not going to tear myself a new one over this. Back in the old "calorie counting" days this would have totally derailed my day. Nowadays I recommit to following my plan for the rest of the day (without trying to compensate for it).

This mentality helps me have less frequent "slips" and helps the infractions stay small.

I forgot to mention before too that I almost never (in fact, really never) eat "junk". I think keeping my diet super clean and pushing myself on lifts (not necessarily heavier but good form and not too much rest between sets) allows my body to deal with the occasional couple hundred calories I might get from an extra bison burger.

Oh, and Jennifer... I realized I didn't answer your question about cardio. I do 60 minutes total during the day. I find it most convenient to get it done in the morning but this is not where I would put it if I had more flexibility in my schedule.

I don't lose more weight with more cardio. My "sweet spot" is closer to 20 minutes for weight loss. I'm trying to keep gaining muscle for this comp, though, so the increased cardio is key for this particular cut.

If I were just trying to lose weight I'd cut my food back (I'm probably somewhere around 2200 cal/day with a pretty fast metabolism) and cut the cardio WAY back.

Is this clear as mud?

Ewww, you aren't supposed to eat meat that smells foul!
Hopefully you didn't get yourself sick (although you'd probably already know if you did).

Ha, an extra 98% lean bison patty! Give yourself a break! It's not like you just got back from the pizza and chicken wing buffet!

Great post Cutey ......It's always a pleasure to help Jen lol she's such a canny lass! got great potential ..........

It wasn't foul like rotten... It was foul like "bison/buffalo in the oven" foul. Gamey.

Thanks for the absolution! ;D

ok cutie..this is not clear as mud. I LOVE learning this stuff. And this is where I have so much to learn!!! Ok, so did I hear you say that if you wanted to lose weight that you would cut WAY back on cardio? Explain. I mean..I'm confused. I always thought one would do cardio to LOSE the weight? Please tell.

Also when talking about your sweet spot..what do you do for 20 minutes?

Also...I might as well ask so I'm clear. What is the difference between cutting and losing weight?

Based on my pic..do I need to lose weight or cut? How many calories would you suggest for me?

Meal plan sista?! come on with it!! :) LOL!!

I want you to spill every bean that you've got. I mean just drop 'em all on the floor!:Chef:

Sounds like you're in a great position for this show...not too much weight to drop and lots of time. You know, I'm a lot the same. I get more out of a 20 minute HIIT then I would 60 minutes MISS in terms of metabolism, fat loss etc. I think it's great to have a trainer too for the diet part. I'm confident I could diet myself but having someone else who can work with you and do the bulk of the thinking for you, in prep, is priceless!! I think my last prep I started about 2350 calories/day and finished at about 1600 with 90 mins cardio/ day plus lifting, over a 20 week period.

Great job! You motivate me to get back on a more structured program. :)

And thanks chika!!

Lol if only it were a pond I'd be over there like a shot ! I wish I had a training partner like you !!

CG... I'm useless without external structure in most things. Obviously it's good to know when to put it down, but especially for food it gives me so much freedom to not be obsessive about it.

I find in the end it's way less stressful the more I stick to a plan. Sometimes it seems like the details of the plan don't matter nearly as much as just having and sticking to it.

Thanks for all your input, Cali. It's priceless to have the support of someone who's been through it!

Lol... Thanks, Zed! Keep an eye on this chica!

This is why I don't post food specifics. It's so different for everyone. Gotta get to know your own body, what works for you and even that changes month to month, year to year, etc.

Lifting back. Used to be my least favorite day but it gets my "most improved body part" award for the second half of 2011 ;p

Love it!!!

Lat pulldowns: 3x15
Single arm dumbbell rows: 3x10
Underhand barbell rows: 3x10
Underhand pulldowns: 3x15

Jennifer, darling....

You make me smile. I am happy to answer any questions about my program or offer support but you have a great coach in Zed, and a program tailored to your own body.

Don't ever let anyone tell you to lose weight (unless it's some medical reason and it is your doctor). I can hardly see your avatar picture and I have no idea what your goals are -- am I really the right person for that decision?

To answer your question about the cardio... Again, really different for different people. It has to do with cortisol, growth hormone, changes in appetite, etc. If what you want is muscle gain and fat loss focus, on your lifts. This will get your endogenous growth hormone pumping!

Go girl!

Nope, you're not on to me!! :) I have no reason to cut or lose fat. Right now I'm eating everything in site (just not chicken) and my goal is to get big. BIG MUSCLES. That goal never changes. Or at least until I get where I want which is going to be a really long time seeing where I'm at now. I'm curious like a cat. Yall don't understand!!! I've been interested in fitness/lifting/dieting/nutrition/cutting my entire life with absolutely NO ONE to talk to about it. I sent my mom a pic of my arms the other day and she thinks I'm nuts. My husband thinks my goal is to be a man!! :( Nobody over here gets what I'm trying to do!! Yall do though. So, I'm asking anything and everything I've ever wanted to know. Some of these concepts are really foreign to me. Like cutting cardio to lose fat or gain muscle! Most people, including myself think the opposite. And, do WAY too much cardio and then wonder why they never gain muscle (hence...me!!!)

So don't fret Zed..Im an open book. I am following your program...very dedicated and to the tea (swettea that is...LOL) I am looking forward to transitioning to the 5 x 5 program with you and adding even MORE muscle!! So!! You ain't on to nuffin!! :)

I know it's hard to read tones in emails but I'm saying this very lighly. I just really don't want you to think that I am going behind your back and asking others questions. I'm really just so interested by this stuff and feel like I have my own professors!! So, I'm asking everything!! You never know..when I get huge I might want to cut and compete and these questions might have just given me the key!! make sense?

you do have to keep an eye on me though...just for other things...tend to be a lil crazy!!!

Hey SWEETTEA!

I just saw your post asking for a plan. I'm on my phone so things slip by. If anything I said previously is irrelevant please disregard.

I'm happy to help, but I need to know more details and mind if I confer w Zed about where you guys are headed for workouts?

I'll throw a few thoughts out there in addition to what CB wrote.

To me...anyone can lose weight, which can be a combination of fat/ muscle. It's how people can end up "skinny fat". They lost their weight but have no muscle, so are really just a thinner version of themselves.

Cutting is the bb lingo with the assumed focus on preventing muscle loss as much as possible, while lowering body fat. Key components of cutting would reflect keeping your protein levels high enough and lifting weights. I, personally, feel that muscle loss on a cut is somewhat exaggerated in the bb community and the literature would suggest it doesn't happen as quickly as we would all believe. (that part is just my opinion though based on the research and discussions I've had). Keeping protein high though and lifting heavy, along with cutting slowly, maximizes the body's ability to preserve muscle.

Jenn...one thing I'd suggest for you, as someone who is learning, is to keep that daily journal. CB is so right when it comes to diet. It's trial and error to find out what you respond best to. Keeping a log of what's happening and what your diet and training are like at that time is invaluable. I used fitday a lot and they have a little journal section and I'd log things like my energy levels, strength, any changes I was noticing. That way I can go back and see that I do better with x number of carbs and lower fats, with 5 meals a day vs 7 etc etc.

A few late night thoughts to add to the discussion :)

Jen let me tell you chic when I fist started out most people said to me why you WANa look like a man. And tbh that really upset me because I knew that was not what I wanted so I carried on regardless now 4 years down the line those people know how much training has changed my life for the better and they see how far I've come then same people including my parents said to me last week when I mention that I was pi**edoff coz I'd missed a rep said Donna don't worry look how far you came and whatever your doing you look amazing and were so proud of you. Now that meant the world to me. The way I look at life is the world would be a shity place of we were all the same ! You live your life the way you want chic it's not like you get a 2nd chance.
And tbh I kinda wondered of your were thinking of cutting lol now reading this post I know otherwise.

Subbing on this. And Jen never feel apprehensive about asking others for advice. Getting different opinions and then ultimately making a decision for yourself and what works for you is what this place is all about!

Thanks...I appreciate that!

Thanks so much CG. Your posts are always so informative and right on. You have been such a huge help to me in my journey!!! Sorry I don't know enough to help you!! You are one of the professors I was referring to!! So impressed with all the knowledge yall have!! THanks again!

Aw Donna!! Im so glad that everyone is accepting now and understands!! You know when its important to you you want it to be important to others and unfortunately it just doesn't work that way. So sorry you had to go through the negativity at the beginning. I'm glad everyone has turned around for the better.
Im still getting the negativity. If I work out over doing house work (I mean come on the house work wiil still be there when I get back) it is made out like I'm putting working out over everything. I can tell there is some tension with my working out. when I talk to my husband about my goals he usually asks why I want to be a man...and says comments about how women with big muscles are unattractive. Well, I like big muscles. And hey, it's my body!!

So, that's why I'm asking questions here. Besides, it is a workout forum right? How else will I learn? Sometimes I do not ask a lot of question because something hasn't come up that sparks questions. But then, like on Cutie's thread, something comes up and I get really interested and all these questions start forming. I've always wondered how ladies got ready for shows and competitions...so Im firing away. I'm definitely not there (at the competing stage..nowhere near it!)

so yall just ignore me and my questions.........well, I mean answer 'em...just don't read anything into it. Just curious and love the topic!!

Thanks Jen ! And i thinks it's great that you ask questions Jen it shows your wanting to learn,
As for the house work lol hey you ain't Cinderella lmao my workout comes before house work and I don't care lol it's better for me to get work done morning then straight to gym then home eat walk the dog then clean.
Good for you chic yeah it is your body and if you want something do bad you go get it huni. Cutey and the other peeps on here are so knowledgable I've learned so much since I joined EF before I could never get the question I had answered people used to contradict each other and the net does too you just don't know what to take notice of.

Nope, you're not on to me!! :)
Outstanding! I was having concerns here when I first read this.
I have no reason to cut or lose fat. Right now I'm eating everything in site (just not chicken) and my goal is to get big. BIG MUSCLES. That goal never changes.
Again Outstanding!!
Or at least until I get where I want which is going to be a really long time seeing where I'm at now. I'm curious like a cat. Yall don't understand!!!
Thats what I was hoping that you were seeking knowledge and thats a good thing.
I've been interested in fitness/lifting/dieting/nutrition/cutting my entire life with absolutely NO ONE to talk to about it. I sent my mom a pic of my arms the other day and she thinks I'm nuts. My husband thinks my goal is to be a man!! :(
Im really sorry to hear this sista. Hope you can make him undersand with enough time and patience.

This made my day chika! All concerns put aside now.

I know it's hard to read tones in emails but I'm saying this very lighly. I just really don't want you to think that I am going behind your back and asking others questions.
LOL Really didnt cross my mind sista. Never feel like that. We are all freinds on here and you are welcome to all the knowledge that you can gain, ALWAYS!
I'm really just so interested by this stuff and feel like I have my own professors!! So, I'm asking everything!! You never know..when I get huge I might want to cut and compete and these questions might have just given me the key!! make sense?
Shonuff!

Hang in there, Sweettea...

One day at a time. It will all work out!

12/16

Phone was dead for the gym this morning again so I literally brought my laptop and perched it on my machine :p I'm sure it looked ridiculous, but so do my legwarmers (just kidding).

Still, I did have a hard time feeling motivated this morning. I am exhausted. It's been a long week. When I run into this I sometimes split the hour up into 20 (or even 15) minute segments on different machines. My gym just bought some new cardio equipment so I actually kind of had fun trying some stuff out. Can't say it was the best workout but I got it done :)

I'm feeling a little better now that my ex agreed not to come visit tomorrow. He kept trying to show up here and I'm hoping he doesn't. I am just too sick of dealing with all this lame b.s. Working another super long shift today and had a conference to attend at lunch so no workout then... Will try to sneak out for my lift later. This whole day job thing is so annoying!

Glad to have at least gotten the cardio in and had another bison burger for lunch. YUM. So good.

Feeling like I'm moving in the right direction, which is good. Would really like to see another ab soon. Doing Slat's daily abs so I'll keep you guys posted.

Maybe I'll even take more pics over the weekend.

Thank you guys for all your support! It is SO great to have these amazing women!

Woke up a little sick this morning... Still gonna get my lift (arms, nuthin crazy) in but decided it would be wise to take it easy re cardio. Gonna go for a good long walk later but not "sweating out the humours" this time. Tried that yesterday and keep feeling worse. So apparently I need rest, zinc and vitamin C.

Hope you're all having a good Saturday!

xo

Ooh, also, I want to commit to staying on track with my food today. Doing well and excited to see the next "phase" of results! :D

Thanks guys! Trust me, I'm looking pretty pathetic today!

I am sick. Toxic. This totally stinks :(

Yesterday I skipped cardio to try to let myself rest some. I did do my arm lift, but wasn’t too crazy about it. Laid low for the rest of the day but did have plans to meet a friend for dinner and pushed myself not to cancel, which, in retrospect, was a mistake. I woke up this morning feeling like absolute death. Ok, maybe that’s an exaggeration but I feel pretty lousy – just weak and exhausted. And I have a 16 hour day to work.

I did skip the workout this morning. I think it was the right choice. I definitely feel feverish and should be home in bed, but am not going to give these a-holes a reason to give me a poor eval on my way out the door.

Just trying to lay low, moving slow, drinking broth and Gatorade. Will rehab up and come back stronger. Just a minimal setback.

That’s the other thing. Trying to stay as close to my mealplan as I can but appetite is definitely an issue. I probably don’t need quite as much because I’m WAY less active than usual, but I also don’t want to stay a dishrag for too long!

Resting here. Hopefully all better tomorrow. I hate sitting still!

Sorry you're sick cutie. At least your looking hot sick. Think you did the best thing by resting today. Rest is invaluable..but hey...you know this!

So I know you don't post specific meal
Plans but how about a sample one? Come on. ;)

You'll be back on the horse soon!! Eat some bison.

Did Zed give you a diet?

Feeling SO much better! A little gross cuz I didn't work out but have my appetite back which is a good sign ;p

15 more minutes of work before I go home to SLEEP and then hopefully feel up for some AM cardio. Amen.

I gotta say ur commitment to eating clean is unreal... What you consider blowing your diet is me eating clean lol. I would kill to be as lean as you are now! I can't wait to see pics when you compete (if you post them that is) :)

Body building is 80% diet and 20% lifting. The body is more manipulated by food than anything imo. I eat so clean it would make you sick really. Lol

I agree... I think you could even say 98:2%

Honestly, it gets easier the longer you do it. It just becomes the way you eat. I can't even look at the other stuff now. If I try to eat it I feel gross. It is just too much -- like when someone wears too much perfume -- overload!

My cheats are clean cheats... In my mind, there's just no reason to give my body crappy material to work with. More commonly a cheat is just a bigger portion of something I was going to eat anyway. This generally isn't an issue except for contest prep (or if I'm sick/injured).

I used to stress so much about diet. Now I'm so much more relaxed because I know what is coming next and how I'm going to feel after I eat it and 2 hours after that. I eat for energy and to build good tissue. It feels good! The only thing I miss right now (although I have it occasionally in the off season) is red wine!

When I have tried to cheat and eat sweets or crap food I feel sick for days after. Totally agree Cb.

I wish I could be like you! If I don't have one day to eat whatever I want to every week, I just can't do it. I'm right around 18% now, but if I have up that day, I may make it to 10% lol!

I'm just jealous ;)

I am curious... What do you eat? As in types of food... I am so particular that my downfall is usually when eating the same exact thing (that I don't like to begin with) starts making me queasy, and I don't like enough other clean food to switch it up without falling off the wagon...

Right now all I eat in a day is egg whites, oatmeal, and bars and shakes. I'm right around 3000 calories per day, but I'm losing so much weight, I may have to change it up a bit..

I would appreciate any information you are willing to share...

I think start by writing down everything you do eat. You'll start to notice patterns (for example, you really "jones" for crap if you're not eating enough good fat, or if you let your blood sugar get too low by going too long between meals).

If you're really dropping weight and there isn't something else going on then let's think a little bit about what came out of your diet. What changed?

I'm listening to you and the eating your describing does sound pretty terrible to tolerate. I would start, for you, with making at least some of your eggs real whole eggs... It's a much more complete protein.

Are you a vegetarian? I'm not hearing any meat in there

I don't know what your goals are, but my experience is that a good solid diet builds a good solid body. Supplements and shakes are good in a pinch but no substitute for good clean eating of real wholesome food.

If you want me to work with you I'm happy to. Just send me a PM.

I am curious... What do you eat? As in types of food...

Here's the list

In season:
1. Eggs, chicken, fish, steak
2. Brown rice, oatmeal, quinoa, sweet potato
3. Green veggies and some fruits
4. Avocados, olive oil, fish oil
5. Very occasionally whey isolate (generally unflavored)
Other: coffee, cocoa (unsweetened), herbs and spices

Off season:
Same as above. Add nuts (almonds, macs, walnuts), occasional red wine.

Um... Yeah... That's it right now

I have had other plans at different times but those are the building blocks for where I am now.

I designed nutritional plans for people for a living so I'm more than happy to work with people who are motivated. There's no big secret. If it were easy everyone would do it. Try making some incremental changes and see how you feel.

Ok folks, I'm back on it, not pushing too hard, but getting my cardio in this morning with some thanks due to the makers of nasal decongestants.

Something I'd like to comment on this morning is body weight. Yes, as in... The scale. The inanimate object that terrorizes and glorifies individuals all over the world.

Mine humiliated me this morning... Or it could have, would have in the old days. I was six (6, as in 4 plus 2) pounds up from last Thursday (I check my weight twice/week right now).

I'm not entirely immune to the panic of theoretical fat gain. I reminisce on the extra bison burger, a heavy handed portion of salmon, the 3 gallons (exaggeration) of chicken broth I drank in an effort to knock the flu out yesterday.

Wait a sec... Chicken broth. Doesn't that have a lot of sodium? Yes, indeed it does. I estimate yesterday I took in about 3-4 grams more sodium than I usually do. I did this intentionally, to keep my "yang" energy up, my blood pressure pumping long hard enough for me to make it through a full day at work, to clear the crap out of my sinuses.

So then I'm left dealing with this number. Way higher than I'd like, and a little voice in my head that says "this meal plan is too big for you! You're getting fat! Run for the hills!!" But thorough review says it's probably not my my plan making me "fat".

Today's solution is to follow my nutrition and exercise plan to the letter, resist the urge to keep weighing myself until I get a number I like (see, I'm crazy too!) and recheck on Thursday.

I also know it's time to bite the bullet and find someone local to keep an eye on my body fat %. I'm lifting like a bodybuilder, so it's a little silly to use a "Jenny Craig" measuring tool as my only barometer for success.

Not saying that the scale is worthless. If this "number" isn't any better on Thursday I will be making a call to my trainer and you'd best bet there will be some alterations to the current plan, but that's the difference, it will be a calculated, planned change that is geared toward my goals, not a willy-nilly meal-skipping effort to make myself feel better.

If there were one thing I could go back and teach myself about this whole body development process it would be the triumvirate of consistency, patience and calm. Panic gets me nowhere. The panicked efforts of my 20s got me bouts with anorexia and binge eating, osteoporosis and amennorhea. Today I am 130 lb of mostly muscle, I have the energy to get through my day, and at 32 I have a better body than I most of the 20 somethings at my gym.

I definitely didn't come up with this but I often reflect on a common meditation teaching that the constant dripping of water can wear away a stone. Polished. Finished. Strong. That's what we are going for (or I'm going for anyway). I've had the Skinny Bitch body. For me, there was something really unfulfilling about always shooting for smaller, thinner, weaker.

Here's to owning some strength and power! Have a fabulously charged day. Don't be ruled (don't let your mood be ruled) by a 7 dollar digital box.

If you have fat to lose, fine... We are doing it; this is not meant to be a fat girl's manifesto. There are too many of those out there. I'm talking about identifying your physical goals and making them what you want (not necessarily what Madison Ave wants you to aspire to).

If you prefer your Skinny No Whip Latte you can have mine too. I'm going guns blazing for this procard in 2012.

Morning CB...I just have to tell you how much I appreciated your post this morning. You know I've had so much stress and personal challenges, like you, lately and the part about the dripping water and the stone really touched me. Brought a tear to my eye this morning. Hopefully, when all the crap and pain passes, we will both come out polished and strong. I admire your strength and am so glad you shared those thoughts this morning. I really needed it because I got up this morning wondering how I was going to get through the day! Thank you! :)

Cutey that post is amazing in speechless the true dedication you have is astonishing , well done chic and I'm so glad your feeling better.

The answer is one minute at a time... Like any other day, right?

Thanks, CG. We gonn' be alright (better than alright, actually).

You guys continue to inspire and motivate me. I'm home now. I think my piss and vinegar got me through cardio this morning but the return might have been premature as I almost passed out at work.

Curling up with some tea and a good book. Gonna let this animal I call my body rest up. Don't be mistaken, tho... We just resting ;) stay tuned!

Dang......just not a lot left to be said after that.
You rock cutie, keep those wheels a turnin!

Thanks girl!! One minute at a time is right and you know...as I thought more about the polished stone yesterday, somehow it just brightened the day and changed my perspective a bit.

Have a great day! :)

hey ladies,

i'm still sick, which is shocking -- this NEVER happens to me. lol -- guess i can't say that anymore!

it especially sucks because i've been trying to make as good an impression as possible at work on my way out the door, but some things are beyond our control.

feeling kind of soft and puffy today and have been resisting the urge to feel sorry for myself/beat myself up/some combination of those two with the following thoughts:
1. this is temporary
2. everything happens for a reason... i am a firm believer in this. for example, my right achilles has been a little "tweaky" lately. who knows if i would have ruptured it doing squats today? i'm taking full advantage of the downtime to STRETCH and do all those parts of my "training" that get neglected.
3. everyone needs to rest. rest is when growth happens. so if i'm getting an unintended grow-time, so be it.
4. even if i have some physical set backs (fat gain/muscle loss) from this week, i will do what i need to do to rectify the situation. i wouldn't want to be the stroller-bunny between me and the step mill next week ;)

that being said i'm not letting myself go to sh!t... i'm watching my diet (making an effort to not under/over-eat, which is hard with the obliteration of any normal hunger-fullness cues with this bug). maybe today will be the day i order a competition suit for bikini (the figure suit will have to wait about a month)...

much love, my girls!

Lolzzz... In that case I'm feeling under the weather for weeks

Jk. No chocolates for this girl (actually, I do sometimes have raw cacao nibs but it's more like a seasoning then...but I digress)

My goal is to feel better tomorrow and go to work and then lift. I have already made a promise not to do my morning cardio as I think it might have set me back on Monday. I will wait until the evening, lift shoulders (which is out of order but a little easier than legs or back) and then be able to go to bed without worrying about tiring myself out.

I say this here because I know it's going to be hard for me to not do cardio at all in the morning if I'm feeling better.

I guess if I'm totally up for it I can always do it after shoulders. It's better that way anyway.

Just thinking out loud here....

Boredom!
