Sweetheart...why so much cardio? Have you tried decreasing it and increasing weights and yoga? And then I would also cut your carbs to 50 gr of fibrous only and incorporate good healthy fats and protein. Mass amounts of cardio increase cortisol. It can be inpossible to lose fat with this going on.

So you are saying that if I do more cardio, I will gain weight? My weights are relatively high(keeping reps between 10-12 , some 12-15). You are also suggesting that I cut my carbs down to 50g/day? That would put me in a state of ketosis and I dont want that. I am however doing carb cycling, should I change that???? ;)

NO offense to playmatesky at ALL ...

Aries, I think since you are in comp prep, I'd stick to what you've been doing & follow the guidance of your trainer/sassy/whomever is helping guide you on this.

We all KNOW excess cardio can be hurtful, esp if you are not eating enough, which I think you are. Mass amounts of stress also increase Cortisol & for me without the cardio I would go :insane: ... I'm also a friggin animal :D

Anyway, I have seen AM PM cardio sesssions for comp prep ... Has your currrent routine been giving you results? Is it working for you and your goals at this time? From your previous posts I get the impression things have been working nicely to help lean out (i.e. old Training Partner bailing b/c you're getting better results than her on here miracle drug) ...

Just some things to think about, and NOT stress about... You've got enough on your pretty little shoulders here...

Comp ladies? Comments???

If you have a good nutritionist then I would stick with that person if you are seeing results. If not...look into a better one. I would always want one if I was not sure of how to tweak things for better results.
I can tell you this...I was doing cardio 6 days a week and weights 4 days a week.
I would lose bf but not as much as I should have been My diet was also super clean. I would not even add toxins like splenda, ect.
Now..some will disagree with me that splenda is even a toxic substance but it is.
I am studying to be a Naturopath Dr. so I am very much into things that are not going to hurt your body. I wasnt that way in the past but I have changed over time. Never perfect for sure though.LOL
Anyways...because of not being able to acheive my goals I became fustrated and sought advice from a world known nutritionist that is part of a company that trains olympic athletes across the world. Www.charlespoliquin.com
It cost a fortune but it was worth it. My goals were to get as cut as possible..Ie: 6 pack and to gain lbm
I had been eating 100 gr of carbs and had also tried the 2 high carb days with 2 gr of protein per pd of bw and 51 gr of fat. This was not working for me. I was using fitday to track things and even tried tweaking the shit. I was losing a little but pouding my ass in the gym with little results.
What I had suggested for you was was was suggested for me and all of the althletes Mr. Poliquin trains. Here it is:
I was told that I was going to eat no more than 50 gr of fibrous carbs each day. No starchy. I was also to eat 1.5 to 2 gr of protein per pd of bw and keep fat about the same which was 51 gr. She said not to obsess about the numbers though.
I was told to drop cardio to 1 or 2 days at the most and increase weights to 6 days and add in a lot of yoga.
I was like wtf? I will gain weight. I was told not to worry about that because there was no way and promised it works. And...it did. Finally I was able to lift more than cardio which I had always said I would rather lift than do cardio anyday.
With this plan I got very shredded and had great energy which to me I really doubted but had to try. I mean again..this guy trains olympic athletes and is known world wide.
I do take a lot of supplements but I know they help.
I have also noticed greater results when my body is not at such a toxic state.
I did a cleanse before all of this too.
Good luck sweetie.

Thanks girl...its always great to get help. Im studying to be a dietitian, so in a way this whole thing I am doing is my very own personal experiment. How far can diet take your body without too much 'artificial' help? I guess in the process my mind went totally berserk...you know, starting to feel kinda mental...my mood was switched around a lot, mentally I was more fuzzy rather than clear(I guess this happens the 1st time around). Compared to my VERY FIRST pics (which I have yet to put on here....and will in time :)) I am seeing a lot of results. In fact, a lot of people I know are saying that to me but I guess you are your own worst critic. I dont have the money...to pay someone to tell me what to do at all times. Train me, tell me what to put in my mouth, yell at me when I get LAZY....whatever else, Im sure its great to have but i have the ladies of EF...motivation...so all I gotta do is keep steady and stay focused, most importantly stay mentally focused...and it should all fall in its place.

ALso, it is my personal experience that what works for someone may not necessarilly work for someone else. I learned this the hard way...

So....I woke up with a crazy sore throat this morning! Now i actually have something to bitch about....lol....oh well...the bad thing is that I didnt wake up to my alarm this morning(6:30) AND I missed my first class...again..WTF ?? This is sooooo not me, I was never the 'slacker' type who didnt go to class. I still maintain a's and b's BUT I atleast always went to class.....The good thing is that I am still doing cardio(no matter how crappy I feel)....I can push my self for 2hrs and then I can relax for the rest of the day.

10am: 1/2c oatmeal(pumpkin pie spice+splenda), 1scoop whey
12:30pm: 6oz. turkey breast rolled with mustard, lettuce, onion :p
2pm: (1/2 small apple, 1TBS flax)----- Cardio
