Competition #2 For Anyone and Everyone

I didnt go to the gym today. Decided to check out the tigers. They won in 13 innings. Talk about a long game. Got 2 numbers though. And a couple feels. Life is good. :)

Still stressin about CK.

Alright Week 4 of my test cycle. Real noticable now. I can count on at least adding 10 pounds to smaller muscle groups (Bis Tris, Delts) if not more every exercise. Larger muscle groups... A LOT more. Its blowing my mind. I get sooo fuckin pumped at the gym I must look like a straight up wierd ass. Anger and Aggression, slightly up but for the most part real good. Better then exspected. And sides as far as Acne, Bloat, Others. NONE. Still plenty of time for em, but so far so good. Body changes... Not REAL noticable but they are just comming in. I exspect the next 6 weeks to be more dramatic. Up to about 200lbs. I know this isnt a steroid log.... but thats what is going on in my training.

If you are just drained and down wanna DL, then, ROW BIG. 90% Angle, LOW REPS 5. HEAVY WEIGHT. Make that fuckin back blow up. Use that juice, and calories to your advantage now.

I know u dont need to be told what to do at all,

Sorry guys no Pics. My buddy was to busy today with work to lift with me so I had to lift by myself. Anywho. I pulled 365 once. Max. I maybe could have got out 380. I didnt want to go to crazy and throw out my back. Then did some upper back and little bit of tris. Split routine is different for me and will take some time to get used to. I was happy with 365. I bet in 2 weeks I might be able to get 390-400.
 
I like going traditional until I cant hold it... then I go sumo. But If I am going for a max. I pull out the straps, I dont not want to get it because of my forarms.

reminds me to make one of the forarm trainers with broomstick and 45lb plate to practice.
 
I strap up too... I'm not training to be a raw powerlifter... so i don't care. I just want to move the weight as best as I can.

Don't view it as a weakness view it as using the main target muscle group more effectively.... I also will belt up if my lower back doesn't feel 100% that day.

I want to be doing this for a LONG time... injury prevention is a good policy IMHO. :)

My forearms usually get fried on back day at any rate where i can't grip a 12lb dumbell and not drop it, lol

edit: I did sumo with my last set of DL's last back day... lol, it was fun just standing there in the sumo position at the top of the movement... like "WHAT BEOTCH" lol...good stuff those Sumo people.

Hell ya. My thoughts exactly. MM107 pulled that 423 with no strap.... i was very impressed. I have to go buy a belt tommarow. I dont usally liek wearing them but now that I am starting deadlifting again... I want one. Better watch out MM107... :evil:

forearms ... my grip & fores were so weak until I specifically tried to incorp. exercises to help strengthen them (you know this but maybe someone else will take the suggestion & try it ... who knows ... carry on ... Sumo People ) ... :D

Eh... I think proportionally my forearms will come up with my upper arms, they get trained on bi days with reverse curls, hammers, ect... after those i can't even scratch my own head they're so swole.

You should be able to pull much more if you incorporate them consistantly and train for it bro... you should be pulling 400+ least beotch.

I haven't tried anything more than 405lb (4 plates per side for our viewers) yet.

No but its been months maybe a year. I havent done them consistantly sense my senior year. I used to have low back issues from football and wrestling year round. Also I just hate being uncomfortable for the 4 days after in every chair. Oh well. Im just being a big pussy now.

You'll definetly get that lift up if you start doing it consistantly.

I've got tendonitis & carpal tunnel issues, so I don't lift over 175 without straps. Can't afford to hurt myself. My work depends on my hands.
A coupla youse guys were talking in the last thread about grippers. You bought some online. Do you have the link again? I'd go look for it, but I'm tired & for the love of God I NEED SLEEP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or I 'm too lazy. Something like that.

This morning I woke up and my back is SORE! But not hurting... just EXREAMLY SORE. My entire lower back from the crack of my ass to my lats felt like it was on fire. And for the first time Lat pull downs auctully worked my back.... and damn did it do a good job. Again pulling some serious weight that I never thought I could.

I 3 slices of Jets Pizza and some cheese bread...its horrible but O SO GOOD!. Time to go buy more whey and maybe something else if it sparks my eye. I think I am going to buy some yohim.... with my cardio lately I think it will help. Heard nothing but good.

Why cant you get it!? I could maybe get some over the boarder if you live by windsor.

With the COCs DONT GET A #3. Youll be wasting you time. I had been practicing for along time and still cant get close. Get a Trainer 1, and 2. Sarge knows how hard they are. I dont know if he ever got the number 2??? I bought the Iron Minds 150, 200, 250bs and can close the 250 once. I can get the #3 parelle but no where near closed.
 
Yes, buy the T, 1, and 2 if your budget can afford it. Though, you said gripper being singular lol. so if you're looking for just 1, you could work up to the 1 if you can't close it yet, or rep the T and get better at endurance work.
#3 too, if you really want to get seriously into gripping and going for certs. T=100 1=145 2=195 all in lbs. and the avg. hand strength of a normal man is 120ish? something like that.

The heavy grips, since being cheaper range a little more in the poundages. I've heard that some 300's are actually easier than 250s lol. COC's are fairly consistant and so are Beef Builder grippers.

We will see how that goes. have seen some pics where PCT looks better then when on from the bloat. I am a little bloated and dont have the definition but im getting bigger. Wierd that I havent put on more weight... I eat everything. 80%Clean.

Personally, If i decided to hit the gearbox... i'd eat everything in sight and try to balance 50/50 clean and dirty... just to get the most out of all the hormones running rampant.

Dude. I have no clue what a macro even is. From what I heard its how many cals you burn a day??? something like that. I dont get into diet that much. I know I have to eat clean and eat X amount of calories to get where I want how fast. For me to really cut down I have to eat approx. 2200 CLEAN cals. If I want to Maintain 3200 Pretty clean. If I want mass 4000 clean. Simple as that.

right now. Im working on 4000. Fuck its hard to eat approx 670 cals a meal. I just look in the cubbard and find high protien foods. And eat servings untill I get to about 600 then just find other snacks like penuts to get the extra in.

With all due respect, you are very stubborn when it comes to diet ...

Macros = macro nutrient ratios (protein, fat, carbohydrate)

Eating CLEAN does not mean reading the labels, but reading the ingredients ... the longer the list, the more processed, no mater what is says (No carb, No fat ect) ...

Hick this is a general statement, & you know I luv you man & NOT directed at you at all, but must be said ...

This is why those serious about cutting, and SWEAR they 'eat clean, why can't I lose weight?' .... 99% of the time his/her version of Clean after listing the foods eaten? The diet is the exact reason they are NOT seeing the results... like Pinto has said No amount of cardio can make up for a poor diet ...

I did way too much cardio, ate what I thought was clean, did abs way too often, & I have never seen my 6 pack, ab veins, or the muscles I do now until I actually took a look at WHAT I was eating, when how often, and analyzed it. Some people just don't have time for that .. but you know what, I had time to change my life, body, health & physique so I made it work ... without eating CLEAN, I had NOTHING I do now ...

Which is why fitday & the %'s for P, F & C is often asked for to see EXACTLY what you are eating & when ...

If you want to get very basic and have the debate of cals In vs cals out ... I do NOT buy into it per my last last cut (lets just use this as an example since over time, it is a given, this will change, as does everything else as your body grows, adjusts, changes, and each person is different ... ) ... I have clearly been at a deficit ... on my cutting, cutting diet, I gained LBM, I lost significant Bodyfat, I increased all my lifts & PR'd like no other ...

And I absolutely accredit this to proper meal timing, choices, food options & just not getting my cals in for the day ...

Will this change a year from now? Probably ... but I guess we'll just see ... :)

Thats about it. Seriouslly. Its not that processed list of foods. And I am bulking. I think its pretty clean, but not perfect. And have pretty good Prot/fat/carb ratios. And I am not a serious cutter. :) Maybe one day. But not now. Im happy with my progress and although you guys might not see major differences... ill show you some old pics.

Plus with that diet And my cardio. The results are amazing. I think prob one of the best benifits of AS is that you can go crazy with cardio and not have to worry about muscle loss. My 30 HIIT are fuckin intense. Plus I got the same little Ipod as you Bun. I want a 20 gig now. I would have sold you mine.

AM cardio takes a little while to get use to but try it, just get up, get out, and then it becomes easier ... practice ... I was NEVER always a morning person, it took some time .. and an AM bike ride could be just what you need to start the day off right ... my run this morning, after I finally woke up & dragged my @$$ outta bed (getting over being sick), it was Magnificent...

You can do what I do & set your alarm, roll over, pop your (2-3) CB, go back to bed & see if you just don't wake up 30 minutes later ... then AM cardio :)

Well I really dont put on fat easy. If I am eating clean. I just get fat when I eat real shitty. Thanks for all the support. My chest is my weakpoint. Its finally gettting bigger but still plenty of work. My delts although you cant see in the pics have put on the most size. Trust me the handels are still there :) I try to bulk clean rather then bulking then cutting. I just started squating heavy again and will post pics soon. They get big fast and by the end of my cycle hope to see some good seperation in muscles. Traps are getting large and I never work them but am starting. I like a big neck. My lats were my WORST weakpoint and actually are getting much wider. More difference then the pic even shows. The lighting wasnt that flatering but its really tells the truth. Give me 5 weeks. :evil: Also I want my Biciep to be completly seperated. MY tris are to large for my delts still and thats another thing I am working on. Thanks for all the support guys. I dont think it was that much difference but like i said... the diet and training has been working mentally and physiclly good for me. It might not be drastic changes..... but I am okay with that.

I rode to the University, they have a Sports Nutrition Depot there. got some sups. A girl rode up & came in. We nod to each other, "sup". Then this guy walks in with a gym bag, obviously heading home from a workout. We all do the nod thing. We're all sweaty as hell.
Then I rode about 5 k to a pharmacy. I locked my bike, walked in & walked around getting stuff. Used the facilities. All these Whaleacious people are lookin at me like I got 3 heads. Great big sweat mark on my ass from where my pouch sat. Sweat marks on my chest, neck & back, starting to spot through. Got my MP3 on, carrying gloves & helmet. They thought I was weird. One guy was wearing a sleeveless tee & I could see his boobs, which were bigger than my wife's.

I went to NASCAR today. Thats right NASCAR. Had Pit pass and a whole bunch of free shit. Got about 7 free tins of skoal, T-wolf, Longhorn. I love it. Was rainy but still saw the race. Didnt eat good this weekend nor get enough water in. So I need to step it up. Exspecially in the cituation im in, not going to fuck around. Time for bed. 3 hours of sleep 2 days.... no good.

Great big sweat mark on my ass from where my pouch sat. Sweat marks on my chest, neck & back, starting to spot through. Got my MP3 on, carrying gloves & helmet. They thought I was weird. One guy was wearing a sleeveless tee & I could see his boobs, which were bigger than my wife's.

I went to NASCAR today. Thats right NASCAR. Had Pit pass and a whole bunch of free shit. Got about 7 free tins of skoal, T-wolf, Longhorn. I love it. Was rainy but still saw the race. Didnt eat good this weekend nor get enough water in. So I need to step it up. Exspecially in the cituation im in, not going to fuck around. Time for bed. 3 hours of sleep 2 days.... no good.
What race? My Dad looooooves Nascar. I'd love to take him to a race one day.

I loves me my bike rides. Relaxing for the most part, yet exhilerating at the same time. Especially if the wind ain't strong & you can get up some good speed. U of W & Wilfred Laurier are both about 4 k from my place. Lots of Nice Scenerey "wink wink". Some good bike trails too.

Didn't get my workout per se, but I got a good sweat on doing house work, LOL. Got a Mitre saw for Christmas, & a Compresser with a brad nailer for Father's Day, so I spent the day doing base trim & door trim.

MIN (Michigan International) I think, speedway. I am not a big fan of nascar, but got awsome tickits and thought it would be fun for the day and it was. Amazing how many people love that sport. PACKED. It was fun and would do it again. But I dont think I would eer pay the 65$ tickit price plus I think another 50+ for the pit pass. But for free....Im game anyday. I got a Korn Concert tommarow as well.

You got it. My best buds dad worked for 3M. Free Beer, Food, and VIP passes. The race didnt finish, rain :rolleyes: . We beat traffic and that was the good thing.

Ate 4 eggs this morning with cheese, about 3 cups of muscle milk and 1.2 serving of muscle milk. Feeling a little full but got my 700 in for the meal. Slept 14 hours. :)
 
Had another pretty good workout today. I think a pr on squat, 300#X4. My target is 315#X6.
I'm going in for surgery next Monday. Getting my Xiphoid Process excised.
It's day surgery, I'll be out in 4 hrs. Can't work, or workout, for a week, then only lightly.
It's that small piece of cartillege that hangs down below your sternum. As you get older it ossifies (hardens). Unfortunately, mine is protruding & causing pain. It interferes with working, working out, & sleeping.
So, I'll be on here all week, asking allllllll kinds of questions.

My lift went average today. Of course lifting a lot... but not as much as I wanted to. Got frusterated and couldnt get back into it. Ill try again tommarow :)

I'll only be out for as long as it takes to heal enough not to rip open when I lift, LOL.

I have a friend, if he even gets interrupted a bit, he loses his concentration & can't get it back. His wife & kids are banned from his basement while he's working out.
 
Well tonight I learned one thing for sure. I need to start workin out with my buddy when doing powerlifts. I went to squat today and really wanted to do 315 to the floor. Put the weight on, dont get me wrong it was heavy, and I started down and got about 1/2 way down and had a doubt in my head that I couldnt do it and it fucked me all up. So I didnt get it. I have been getting mental blocks. I cannot have any more distractions and worries when I lift. Fuckin pissed me off. On the other hand, I dead military press 135 X4 on a barbell. That is nothing to brag about but my delts are a big weakpoint im workin on. I am finally getting good pumps threw my ENTIRE back as well. And putting on some weight finally. Im bloated as well so I am kinda soft lookin. Oh well, shirts are getting WAY to small. God its a good feeling.

Mmmm, I know what you mean with the mental blocks. I get mad at it. I lift at home, so on my last rep or 2 of heavy lifts like that, I'll scream "Aaarrrrrrrrrghgghghg!

I had a wonderful workout. Went & played 1/2 a round with my pops. Shot a 68. I suck, but it was good fun & fresh air.
Haven't worked out in a coupla days. Wifey's feeling neglected, so I been enjoying her company.
Went for a bike ride yesterday, was good. Gotta get a coupla good worjouts in before my trip to the OR on Monday.

So how you all doin?

I lifted today, Bench and some tri.

Bench still at 225. But got out 2 reps. Funny I can get 215 like 7 times. Its wierd my chest just does not want to get bigger.... and its not big. Well still plenty of time to work on it. Tommarow I am going out on the boat. Prob have a couple beers. Nothing to crazy. I need sleep. Feeling good though. Although I might have strained my right calf, My fault I havent done them in awhile because they are large and then went all out on some raises. Stupid me.

My bench is like that, too. Can't get it to go higher.

I do that with my calves, but I tend to strain it lower, in the ankle.

You gotta get your sleep, man (says the pot to the kettle). That's one of my biggest problems. Too much to do in so little time.

Hey Hick, Stuck at 225x3? Every try some bands? Ever Try NOT maxxing?

My problem with getting stuck at a weight is basically i was going for a max weekly, on the SAME TYPE OF LIFT. Instead of maxxing on the flat bench all the time, MAX on the incline bench for a week or 2, then jump back to maxing on the FLAT.

Flat benching activates more Tricep then chest. Try some JM presses, or Close Grip Benching to blow them triceps up.

I was stuck(and still am) stuck at 225x3 (but this was before i started the 5x5 and got out of my old idea of training)

I also am lucky enough to have bands at my gym, so when i plateu, i can easily hook some bands up and im good to go.

BUT YEA HICK, if your going for your max weekly its not gonna happen, im telling u from first hand expierence, Start seeing your max on incline dumbells Get them stabilzation muscles real strong too.

But i think the excercises that MOST HELPED MY BENCH: DIPS/CloseGrip & JM Press benching. Get your dips up bro, I want u to do BW + 90 for 5.

Dipping is very good since u move your body through space instead of a bar, so it activates alot more muscle groups. Just some tips for ya hick.
