what happens after your first week? do you change the diet up? leave it the same? your weight is obviously going to be lowering, so should you adjust your calorie intake to this each week?

another question is this, why is the protien so low? i'm 190 give or take a few, and it says only 81 grams the first day. why is this so low?

Sorry nobody's answered you yet, big_bad_buff - no, it's not nescessary to change up a CKD diet after the first week, unless you drop an obscene amount of water weight, and suspect you set calories too high to begin with. Maybe after 4-6 weeks into the diet, if fat loss stalls, then you can drop calories further.

Protein is so low at first to speed your descent into ketosis. Protein as a macronutrient coverts to glucose with 58% efficiency. The standard thinking is that if you eat too much of it, it'll prevent you from entering ketosis, or bump you out of it. However, anything under 100 grams of carbs per day (from straight up carbs or from gluconeogenesis of protein) will cause your body to produce ketones.

I am adjusting my calories

Also, if you got r-ala, i would pull the protein higher than the fat... I did that and was in keto and got ketostix on day 3 and was in keto... Might have made it in day 2, but i didnt check
