I have been working on and off for about 6 years. I'm 5'11 and wiegh 185. I lift heavy wieght on every other body part except my chest. My chest is also smaller then the rest of my body. I wanna build my chest, get it stronger , and widen it. It just seems nothing is working. The most I ever benched was 210. Its godamn embarrasing sometimes. What should I do?

Need some more info.

What is your chest routine now?

How often do you train your chest?

Could be a combination of things, form, reps, repetive routine etc.....

chest

i do incline, bench, decline, and butterflys with dumbells and without. I change it up every 2 weeks. I do the straight bar more then dumbells. I do a differnt body part everyday. I take saturdays and sundays off. Should I be doing chest twice a week?

"The most I ever benched was 210"

Your triceps and lat strength will play a big part in how much you can bench.Your shoulders some too.

You might change your routine up every 4 weeks instead of two.

Keep your reps low in the 4-6 rep range and go heavy.Try to go heavier each week and keep a log of your lifts.

I had the saame problem with you. I woked the chest hard for years and years only doing benches and inclines, but my chest never grew. I am 6ft and have rather long arms and my shoulders always seem to come into play when I do the benches. Probably the worst advice you can get by people telling you to do benches. It may work for some people, but for people like me, and maybe yourself it does nothing. Recently I have started doing decline dumbell presses and it has really worked my chest and for the first time in ten years my chest is looking ok. The reason why I didn't do declines until now is because I listened to people who rubbished the exercise because of the low range of movement. But if you are like me and have long arms you still have to move it a long way. Plus the shoulders don't come into the movement so much. Maybe the declines will not work for you, but you should always give it a try for at least three months. I can't stand hearing people say do benches and inclines. This is so obvious, but it sometimes doesn't work.
