i find this to be a legitmate question, as a lot of my carb sources come from oatmeal...(sad i know)
the only problem with cereals is even though some may show low sugar, the label can still deceive i.e, the processing and refinement of the wheat, rice or corn used to make the product...
if you want to use cereal, fine....but be choosey, and know that you are going to be lacking many nutritional benefits by lack of food...
