Carb loading

Aussi muscle

New member
I watched an article on carb loading, 5 days no carbs 1 day load up. Has anybody tried this and does it actually work, would love to hear your opinions on this subject

Its called ckd (cyclic ketogenic diet). Never tried it but it could work if you want burn fat.
Im doing carb cycling and its fantastic, carbs dont build muscle, before i used to to think if you eat alot of carbs you get big well i did got big in the waistline, now i use carbs as a supplement, if you abuse carbs you just get fat as fuck, some people can get away with it, but not me.. The only macronutrient that build muscle is protein, fats and carbs do not contain nitrogen.. Carb cycling is usually 3 low 1 high but i go by the days i workout, off days it 50g carbs, on any bodypart i wan to improve i eat more calories and carbs specially around workouts, and moderate other days.

CKD was big a few years back. Did it for 8 weeks and dropped 30 lbs. Leanest I've ever been.

@ Steve and Rick, yeah I'm in the same boat, I'd find it very hard to train to your max potential being carb deficient, plus with my position in my sport (Australian rugby league) I really need to be 95+kgs so I basically stay on a bulk diet year round adding more muscle but leaning up a little throughout the season due to increased cardio from training and game days. Am considering an early retirement next year and hoping I'm happy with muscle size, will be dieting and trying to get 10% bf whilst maintaining good muscle size.

Sweet il probably try something like this next year when I dial my figure in, thanks for your input :)

Wow 30lbs in 8 weeks, great effort. Did you lose much muscle ?

Hard to say. It was a good 8 years ago and I didn't log bf%. I will tell you at first you are pretty drained in the gym, but you get used to it. I actually had close friends ask if I gained weight cause I was so vascular. Leanest I've been in the 17+ years I've been in this game. To be fair I was on a low dose of test and tren to fight off wasting. And carb loading day is awesome.

I do carb cycling of sorts, but definitely not CKD. I typically run high carb on workout days (M,W,F) and low carb on cardio days or rest days. It gas been a very effective method for me to stay lean year round and build muscle slowly over time.
