i hate doing barbell bench press, so i use dumbells. only thing is when someone asks what do i bench, i tell them 85 with the dumbells.... anyone know a good way to convert this to barbell??? let me know if you can help. thanks

Who cares? Simply tell them "enough" :D

Why are people so caught up in "how much do you bench??" It's a catch phrase at my gym. There's my training partner and I, then a bunch of teenagers that come in, do 15 minutes of preacher curls and bench press and leave. Maybe I should try their routine

But, to answer your question, I have no idea... your topic just triggered a rant :) I do know this, benching 85pd dumbells is a lot harder than benching 170pds barbell. I am a big believer in dumbells when compared to barbell.

I'm with him...who cares how much you can bench.....I've seen badass mofo's bench like 200....and I've seen the biggest pussies bench over 300.....for some reason it's like a test of manhood in the gym or something. I as well have no idea about your question...but if I had to guess I'd say about 230 or so....like I said....just a guess.

Bump for this thread, the next guy who asks me "how much do you bench?" is going to get 'the Rock' attitude from me: "It doesn't matter..."
