Best training ideas for a powerlifter

I'm looking to start powerlifting. I haven't been weightlifting in about a year and a half. I used to weight train pretty regularly but then my gym closed down and I just got lazy and didn't want to drive an extra 15 minutes to another gym.
What is a good strategy to start powerlifting? Should I stick to three or four compound lifts or should I try machine work?

I'm a big fan of powerlifting. I've been doing it for many years. You should look up Ronnie Coleman and see his videos on how he lifts.

Deadlifts, bench press, squats, pull-ups, dips - these are all good compound lifts that you can definitely make your bread and butter.
