While I agree completely DB's ar best for ROM and my personal favorite for chest development, Barbell Bench exposes the pecs to more weight and stimulus (more auxillary muscle fatigue from balancing and controlling each arm with DB's). Overall body strength and coordination is derived from HEAVY BB than from using DB's.
From an overall perspective - you should include some BB in your yearly program. Just don't make the mistake of trying to use your sternum as a springboard.
