Please tell me that these quotes from Obama's book "Dreams of My Father" are not racist.

He is being candid about the fact that he struggled with the race issue while growing into the person he has become. He similarly was very honest about his drug use.

I am curious as to why longhorn seems to sound like a Barack supporter now as well. Although I don't think it has anything to do with his skin color/racist/etc., just by having read longhorn's posts in the past. I suspect he may be playing a bit of devil's advocate perhaps?

A lot of folks around here are jumping on the bandwagon that he is unqualified, racist, etc. I don't agree with that, and I am picking apart those arguments.

I have not changed my political stripes but if Barack Obama keeps Hillary from getting the nom he will be one of my heroes for life.

How so, and which other candidates that ran do you feel were unqualified?

Do you feel JFK was qualified? Do you think Hillary is qualified?

Of the current lot, I think that McCain is the most qualified, followed by Hillary.

I dont agree with the majority of either of their politics, so I wont vote for either of them.

I do understand that a POTUS does not necessarily have to have a lot of experience, and that it is important that they have an ability to plain bring people together (JFK).

I would say we should all try to convince Colin Powell to run.

Maybe Spain was buying them from Moores, I dunno. I do know Spain had a big part in it. I really don't care. I've just never seen so much bitching about anything that actually improved a situation down the road as this. Dwelling on the past and using something that didn't happen to you as a crutch is really positive.
