Thanks Jen. Yup, the show is 7/8 in VA...the bodyrock. It's a really big show, which I didn't really understand until the past couple of weeks. I'm starting to get really nervous...It's my first one.
 
Thanks Rooney and Treil. I totally need the confidence boost. My head's starting to be very discouraging. I'm now starting to think I don't have enough size to me to do bb. I know it's my first show and everything, and I'm not expecting to win, but I just don't want to look like an ass, ya know? :rolleyes:

Yes Scorpy, I'm lw. I was worried about making my weight, but this morning I weighed 128, so I should make it under 125 easy. It's weird..I didn't drop a pound on the scale until about 3 weeks ago, and I've been dieting for about 14 weeks.

I do the same thing. bf drops, weight doesn't.....GOOD!!!!! Keep muchin' on that chicken! :lmao:

Any thoughts on what you're doing diet wise peak weak?

Hey I'm with SG on this one... The scales haven't moved in about two weeks for me either, but I can tell you right now all my belts are atleast a notch tighter if not two ;) So your just getting some muscle is all... keep up the kick @$$ job, you look GREAT!!!!

I try to take at least one complete rest day out of the week. I can feel that my body really needs it too. I slept terrible last night.

I did that last night due to lack of time. :) I have been doing arms and then shoulders and calves together.. but I actually prefer to split arms up when I'm bulking.

Lower Cable Pulls maybe??

Stand in the Cable Rack with a D-ring on each side in the lowest position....pull up with each arm, crossing your hands in front of you.....

Hey Scorp! Well....still waiting on my suit :rolleyes: Should be here by Friday. I'm a little nervous about that...hope it fits.

I registered for the show and reserved a hotel room yesterday.

Still need to figure out all the protan details. I"m going to talk to the local tanning salon today...see if they'll spray me. Scorp, do you have any experience with this? I"m trying to figure out how many appt. to schedule, how many coats, should they spray my face?...all that stuff.

I really need to work on my routine this week...I feel pretty comfortable with the mandatories. There is so much shit to do to prepare for a show!

I'll post new pics on Sat. before carb deplete. I'm starting to see changes everyday now...getting pretty vascular and legs are (surprisingly) looking cut.

OH! and I weighed 126 this morning. I'm relieved about that because as I posted before I was nervous about making my weight class...under 125.

The suits are always a big concern from what I'm hearing. When you have them made, your measurements are usually a little different - but they can be taken in easily, so don't stress over it.

You'll probably want to be sprayed 2 or 3 times if you're not using ProTan. I would save your money and only get sprayed once (with the darkest one they have) and do a couple coats of ProTan. It's more messy and time consuming, but spray can get expensive. Yes, you want your face sprayed. Hold your breath and close your eyes when it goes across your face. LOL nothing like seeing pics of a ProTan body with a white face! lol (let's not do that - ha ha)

I used Protan - 6 coats, beginning on Wednesday, then used a bronzer the day of the show....I didn't put any on my face as I used makeup - Maybelline Dream Mousse or whatever it's called - in the darkest color they had.....

I know people who've used 2-3 coats of Protan + Dream Tan on the day of the show or Jan Tana show tan on the day of the show - all with good results.....

Well, I am planning on using protan...the salon here said they could airbrush me with it. So they should just do one coat at a time? And I should go like Wednesday, Thurs, and Fri? and just bring a bottle with me for touch-ups?

Here's what I did: 1 coat Wed morning, rinse off Wed nite....Coat 2 Wed nite, rinse off Thurs morn, apply coat 3...rinse off Thurs nite, another coat(4) Thurs nite, rinse off Fri morning, another coat Fri morn (5) & a 6th coat Fri nite....touch up as needed Sat morning, apply top coat at the show (bronzer, Jan Tana, etc).....

Sounds like a plan! Do you have any color at all right now? It may take more than 3 applications if you're pretty white.
 
Oh and you'd better use old, very dark sheets cuz it will rub off somewhat.....

....and don't wear any white clothes that you want to keep clean! lol

I was going to the tanning bed too - for about 3 months - but still needed 6 coats....my profile pic shows the color....

Can they do two coats at a time when they spray you? Like let one dry then do another right on top? How long does it take to dry?

Sorry I have so many questions. This tanning stuff is confusing to me and I don't want to look rediculous with a bad tan job. :)

It can take a bit to dry, so just do 1 coat at a time & wear gloves so your nails don't get stained....then use your hands to buff in the color so you don't get streaks.....
 
not only does it take time to dry, you can't shower for 6-8 hours after being sprayed. Your skin will only absorb so much per application. So def wait until after you shower off the extra from one spray to do another.

Well, I stopped by the tanning salon. They are kind of clueless about protan..they've never used it before, but they said they will spray me. So, I scheduled 3 sessions for Wed, Thurs, and Fri.
The only thing that sucks about it is that they require you to wear underwear, and no thongs. So I guess I'm just going to wear the skimpiest undies I can get away with and have my boyfriend do what they don't cover. ;)
They also said I should exfoliate w/ a good body scrub beforehand. Does anyone know of a good one?
I have to order the protan myself...3 8oz bottles should be enough, right?
 
Geez, where do you live? I thought Indiana was conservative, but they all just want the "parts" covered (and the top parts don't matter). Last I knew, everybody had a BUTT!!! lol

I don't know how much an airbrush uses, but I would think 3 bottles would be plenty.

Just use a poofer (a nylon puff ball thingie) or some apricot scrub - something similar to that.
 
And make sure you've stopped using lotion on your skin a few days ahead of time - you want your skin to be dried out so it absorbs the Protan.....

I only exfoliated with a loofah mitt - no scrub stuff....
 
they cant do you naked? the place we go to here will do it if you ask. Ive considered the spray on with the protan... let us know how it goes! better than applying it myself and on husband!

and 3 bottles will definitly do for 1 competition! we go through exactly 3 bottles together (hubby & I) for each competition.

for exfoliating scrubs- walmart or local pharmacy look for a deep exfolatiant with sea salt, be sure to get an exfolating mitt as well.

rinse VERY well! be sure not to lotion your body up after... any added lotions before applying protan wont allow your skin to absorb the color as well.
Protan has a great pre-application body scrub as well, that works greats to get the protan off post-comp too. :)

the color is called 'burnished coral satin'...I thought it would be more red than it is, but it's pretty pink. I think it will look great, though, especially after I'm all protanned.
 
OK, Girl....we need a preview!!! Sounds like one of my fave colors - salmon or shrimp! Absolutely beautiful with a tan!
