Went out of town over the weekend to see my brother. I packed all my food, and stuck strictly to the diet. :verygood: Yay for me!

I enjoyed my carbs this weekend. Tomorrow= no carbs again. :bawling:

I just want to let you ladies know that I've decided to compete. I've been thinking about it this whole time I've been dieting, and I finally decided....what the hell? :whatever:

The show I picked is July 8th. So, I have 8 weeks to be comp ready. Not much time, but I think I can be ready then. It's a pretty competitive show, but the timing is on and it's the closest to me. Plus, I figure I will get the best learning experience from competing against the best. I'm going to be competing in the bb class...I'll be lightweight.

I'd really appreciate tips, critiques and everything, especially from those that have done a show. The only people I have helping me at home are guys, which kind of sucks... but I don't know any females that compete.

I'll post new pics soon....

The no carb days haven't been too bad yet. I think knowing that I carb up is coming soon really helps me mentally. There's no way I could do more than a few days of it, though. I'm excited to see what kind of results the carb cycling brings me.
I like the lying hack squat a lot too. Especially since I'm trying to do higher rep exercises, things like the leg press and squats don't really work as well.

Hey Sass! I'll be competing in the BB division. It's funny cuz I was looking at pics from last year's show, and there's not a whole lot of difference between some of the figure and BB girls' physiques. But the girls that actually placed in the figure division obviously had less muscle.

I haven't found a suit yet. I'm going to check out some of the links in the competition sticky. $ is a bit of an issue, so that's really gonna dictate what I end up with. Any suggestions on styles?

How are you feeling on this carb depletion diet? Personally I would do low carb with the high days like 2-4 days spread apart. And only 2 to be able to refuel but that is just me. I wonder though how you feel having the 2 no carb days and why you do it that way? Just curious. Is it working for ya?

Hey P! The no carb days have been tolerable so far. I've only been doing this cycle for about 2 weeks, so I'm not going to change anything yet. I want to see how this works, but I may change it up. Thanks for your suggestions.

Had a rough night sleep last night. :worried: I had the worst stomach ache again after I went to bed. I'm beginning to think it has something to do w/ the almonds, since that's the last meal I have. Has anyone else had trouble with them before????

Anywho....I'm going to start working on posing this weekend. I borrowed that tape: "Perfect Posing" from a friend. That should get me started anyway.

YES I think you will be ready but as with any show, you do your 1st for the experience... look at how Aries just kicked some major @$$...

.. the diet will dial you where you need to be (IMO abs esp.) ... only areas I see would be maybe the legs slightly .. how is back side/glutes/hammies coming along? I know full back shots are difficult to post, but Sassy has great suggestions for tightening those up ...

I cannot offer much suggestion on BB vs Figure but I can't help but think you have more of a figure physique? Sorry If I am way off here...

You LOOK great either way ... VERY Yummy... and again, I am sure the camera does NOT do you justice... LONG day, very tired, trying to make the rounds...

Bunny: thanks for the feedback! :) I wasn't quite comfortable w/ a full ass shot yet. I do have quite a bit of fat still on the glutes. I'll have to check w/ Sassy on those tips you mentioned. Hams I think are a strong point. My quads are just now starting to cut. I guess that's the case w/ most women's legs though...always the last to go.

The whole bb vs. figure had me a bit confused. From the local shows that I've been to, it seems like I'd have to much muscle for fig, like the judges frown upon that...but I do wonder if I'm "big" enough for bb. My goals for my physique are more like the figure girls at the pro level...which seem to match the lightweight bb girls at the amateur level. Does that make sense?

Wow, every thread I open has fantastic looking women..You're looking in great shape.... I would definately attempt competing..

I was also confused with the figure, bb thing but after watching some tapes, I found bb allows you to show your personality with the posing and routines...I noticed all figure girls seem to be able to do is the quarter turns....Maybe it's more of personal choice?????

PS- I've been getting stomach pains as well as I have been doing the almonds as my last meal like you have ... think I will switch that up as see if it makes a difference

PPS- Gonna find that ham/.glute work from Sassy that was mentioned

Hey BG - You've got a nice solid base- my comments - nice deep abs, can see intercostals, nice thick lat spread & capped delts already going, nice tie-ins, nice nice nice front double bi - nice thickness from the delts. The legs are always the biggest pain in the ass for women to get them lean enough to match the detail in the upper body - if you hit the cardio, carb cycling and adjust your protein so in the cut you don't sacrifice any muscle, you should come out real nice in 7 weeks.

Questoins - do you have all the stuff - suits, mastery of the mandatories, posing routine - 60 sec AND 90 sec?

I'm currently getting in almost 200g of protein a day. You think that's enough?
As far as the other stuff goes...suit, posing, routine...I'm kind of scrambling to get all that together. I'm so new to all this, and there really aren't any women around here that compete. I'm a little worried about ordering a suit online since I don't know exactly what I'm looking for..... and won't the sizing be off in seven weeks?
Some of my boyfriend's friends have competed, and they can probably help me some with posing. I've got that video "Perfect Posing" which kind of breaks it down.

Yes it did feel great! 8AM? Sorry sbt....but that's not sleeping in. :)
I slept till 1PM.

I like the carb cycling so far. I really don't find the no carb days to be too terribly difficult. It's funny because my energy seems to be the most zapped on my first refeed day. I don't know if that's my metabolism just on a delay or what?
I guess I'll know in a couple of weeks if it's working. I'll keep you posted on the results. Thanks for checking in. :heart:
 
Well... when I get up at 5:20 a.m. every other day of the week trust me 8 a.m. felt great ;) Def intereseted in the carb cycling... I have also been using one from Sassy posts too and seems to be going ok but was thinkin of changin it up similiar to yours (currently doing high, med, low, repeat every now and then add a day 4 of none) But we will see... oh and no prob... enjoying the log :)

LOL - I remember the days of sleeping until 12-1 PM. I don't think I could do that now if I tried! I'm REALLY sleeping in if I'm up at 9:30. It's usually about 7:30 tho - just can't sleep anymore after that. That and I have two cats that are all up in my face wanting food! lol

I thought Wednesday would be a good day to take off since it's in the middle of the week. Doing cardio and weight training everyday has my wiped the f* out by friday (leg day). The little rest in the middle of the week helps to keep me going.
But your right....I should schedule cardio for the carb days...makes more sense.

thanks ck and scorp! I'll just be happy to chill out. I've been so stressed lately. I think the diet and workouts have really taken a toll on me too. I was extremely depressed and cranky today, and I've been having some annoying digestive/stomach issues. Hopefully a week away from life will help.

Felt terrible when I woke up today....maybe it's from no carbs. Anyway, I didn't make it to do cardio on empty this morning. I might do it after training tonight.

Keep it up... You can't be lazy... there is no room for laziness! As soon as I allow myself to get lazy on one thing, then I allow another thing, and so on.... Keep to the plan and even if you don't feel like doing it at that time, do it anyway! You'll be happy with yourself later, and before you know it.... you won't be debating about it at all. :rose:

I think I'm just getting a little whacky from the diet, intensity of training etc..
I guess this is just part of comp prep? Physically I'm handling it fine, but I've just been mentally exausted from it all lately. (Just bitching a lil...thanks I'm done)

Gurl BITCH all you want .. check out Ish's rant thread .. if you need to get it out .. post it there, start a Rant thread... post it in your log ... you are entitled to let off some steam, you will feel so much better .. just don't let it impact your training .. clear the air, then hit the weights hard, kill that cardio & proceed with your day knowing you let it OUT :)

Well, the show I went to was cool. It was really good for me to watch everything and learn. I feel a little more confident now about doing the posing and routine on stage.
I think I'll come in nice in four weeks. I may not win the show, but at least I won't embarass myself. :) I'm really looking forward to the experience, and I'm not so nervous about it now.

I hear ya on the Low/No Carb days - I was SUPER moody on those days when I was prepping for my show last year......and I couldn't have the PB either - just too tempting.....

Throwing out splenda and spices officially today. I switched to drinking green tea in the morning instead of coffee...I just can't get down with the black coffee. Also, I started taking postassium and taurine for muscle cramping. It's been really bad during posing practice. I'm really watching the water intake too....at least a gallon a day.
