Are these sides of a ketogenic diet?

After Thanksgiving, I decided to try the ketogenic diet and I wanted to know the common "sides" associated with doing it.
I wanted to see what would happen over 2-3 weeks, then go to a CKD diet.

I am 5'10, 185lb, 13%BF and have always been doing moderately low-carbs, high proteins diets. I never tried the keto diet because I didn't like the way I felt in the gym.

My diet consists of: cheeseburgers (not fast-food types), barlean's omega twin EFA, whole eggs, provolone cheese, cream cheese, steaks, ANPB, macademia nuts, black coffee, no-carb whey protein, heavy whipping cream, and only green leafy vegetables. I drink lots of water throughout the day. I have now eliminated Equal from the diet too.

So, I am 10 days into it now and have noticed the following:
(I initially lost a couple of lbs, but now it is pretty much the same)

* I felt horrible on the 3rd day, but now I am fine
* Skin definitely looks better
* Have the strong desire for meat (almost animalistic hunger)
* At times, a little irritable
* More thirst
* More sexual desire
* Sweat more, sometime even sweat after eating.
* Strength has gone down a little

Are these sides typical of the diet? What else can I expect?
 
That sounds about right. I'd say that weight lost was busting the water weight that you had. A properly done keto diet (which is a CKD IMO) should net you a loss of about a pound of fat a week. Thirst and irritability are definately side effects.
 
im on my third day of the anpb diet with my chocolate protien powder,and the only difference i have felt, except for feeling like a reeses peanut butter cup, is that im pissing like crazy. i usually have a hard time turning down food. so far, havent missed anything at all. i have subbed a grilled chicken breast with a little anpb smeared on it, for one shake.
