Anyone try increasing the ROM on DL's?

I was thinking of standing on a couple 25lb plates when i do my deads to increase the ROM. I'm using 455lbs now for 8 reps.

What would this increased ROM stress? Legs mostly or the back? Or both about the same?
 
i use to stand on a plat form for sumo dead........... talk about one heck of a workout. 5x5 with 350 doing down untill the bar touches your feet.

When I use to do SLDL's I always used to stand on a platform and and let the bar touch my toes. I use to use 385 for reps with those.

On my regular DL's I use a shoulder width stance, and a shoulder width over/under grip.
