i dont have the time to eat oatmeal all day....i was taking maltodextrin along with whey protein as a meal replacement, but found maltodextrin has too high of a GI rating....is this not a good source of energy? how about taking it before a sporting event for sustained energy? is this not a proper mix for a meal replacement?

fuck man, now im really confused....i just did some research that said instant oatmeal, and even some whole wheat breads have a high GI rating? what exactly can a somewhat normal person eat?

the instant oatmeal probably has a high GI due to the high sugar content that those little packets contain. If you want to go with oatmeal, just get the plain quaker whole oats that come in the tall cardboard cylinder. Yep, thats right about the whole wheat bread. While better than white bread, it still has a pretty high GI. I'd get rid of the wheat bread and go for some brown rice, lentils, or beans.

Take a look around at what everyone here is eating, look up some recipies on the bodybuilding foods board. Feel free to ask anymore questions.
Good luck!
