Alternatives to upright rows?

Warblade

I've read a lot of comments on how upright rows can mess up your rotator cuff and wrists.

So, what's a good exercise that works the lateral delts instead of upright rows?

Don't front raises get your anterior delts more than the lateral delts? I was doing military presses for work on my anterior delts.

You're right. Sorry man, I seem to be completely retarded today.

Closest thing to URs IMO are lat raises with your arms slightly forward, somewhere in between a lat raise and a front raise. Or even plain old lat raises for that matter. They're the only ones I know of.

db lat raises instead of BB puts little if no pressure on your rot. cuff

2 things to try:

1) dbell presses with your palms facing

2) leaning laterals
.....grab ahold of a squat rack or anything heavy and stationary with your left hand. Put your feet close to the rack and together. Lean as far to your right as you possibly can and do a lateral with your right hand. You should be leaned waaaayyy over to your right and it makes the dbell lateral feel totally different.

Just a thought from my old bodybuilding days

Leaning lats are killers!! I do them once or twice a month, nothing hits that delt like them IMO. Definitely an advanced excercise though. I would not do them if you're new to lifting.
