all incline?

my chest is really lagging behind the rest of my build, and a guy at the gym said that he had the same problem until he went to all incline lifts. i know alot of you swear by incline and they are in my workout now(3 sets flat,3 sets incline,3 sets fly) so now im going to try 3 sets incline barbell,3 sets incline dumbell, and stay with the flys.wondering what you boys thoughts were on this workout.

sounds like a bad idea to me.if someone said it works then what can i say..try it.the problem is when you do your barbell incline then d/b incline ,your doing the same move over again.there won't be much variety inthat.iwould go flat barbell.d/b incline, decline flies...orheavy d/b flat bench, wide grip incline, cable flies...or illegal wide flat bench, incline and flies...man, you can come up with so many ways to hit chest.i would not only do al inclines though..just my .02:angel:

I think you will like that routine much better.

Incline DB presses are the best mass builder for chest IMHO. They've helped my chest more than any other exercise. In fact, I don't perform any pressing movements from a flat bech anymore. I've went to heavy incline DB presses, decline DB presses, dips, and a couple sets of either crossovers or butterflyes to finish them off and my chest looks bigger and fuller than it ever has before.

At the risk of sounding blasphemous, I've always considered flat barbell bench press overrated in terms of chest development.

Good luck with it...

Got to work out all the pectorals muscles. Flat, incline, and decline bench.

What am I in college again or something? Pectoralis major flexes and adducts the arm, medially rotates the arm. The Pectoralis minor draws the scapula forward, medialward, and downward. Seriously Anatomy is a good class to take if your a BB. Plus you get to look at disect nasty corpses. :D

Woohoo, that's what I was looking for.

So, why would it take 3 different exercises at 3 different angles to flex, adduct and rotate the arm?

I would tend to side w/ The Mann on this one. Incline barbell and dumbell, work the same range of the muscle the same way. Personally, I think you would be better off working your heavy incline movement fist, then hitting the rest of the chest, (i.e. flat bench, decline.) I've used a similar routine and it has worked well for me.

Flat dumbbell bench and heavy cable crossovers. That basic combo should be a staple. Forget inclines. Some people love them, but I feel they're inferior to flat for pecs, and inferior to military for shoulders.
