All I Can Think About Is 315!!!

Just a reminder fellows....most people are either genetically stronger either pushing (bench) or pulling (back), but probably not equal at both. Chris Cormier is that way, so am I and Satch, it sounds like too. It's somewhat a genetic limitation, that we must work extra hard to get over.

With the boogieman's current recipe, genetics no longer come into play... :supercool

Throw some heavy negatives in some of your bench sets. 345-365 whatever you can control on the way down, have a spotter help you push it up for a few reps. Feel the weight, 315 will soon seem light and you'll push it. The burger would certainly help :p

ive hit my biggest benches and squats with heavy negative either the day of or the workout befor. bw1 said it perfect 345-365 and just go slow with a good spotter. im sure after you do let say 3 with 365 youll toss up 315 twice.

and then again maybe you should think of it as:

Satch 3:15 For Satch so loved the gym that he gave his one and only cycle, that whoever trains with him shall not perish but lift for those eternal gains.

315 was mental for me as well. once i put up 315, within a month and a half i was hitting 405 with a pause. that was when i was 18. after a couple of years of partying and drinking, i am just now gettin back strong. can get 315 for 12 for my second set

90lbs in month and a half

Its definately a head game. Just twisting the bar to get in position fucks with my head sometimes. I still struggle with 315 on the flat for more than 4. I had done dumbells for so long I couldn't bench anymore. The irony is I can hit 315 on the incline all day long.
It took working out with my buddy one day to get over 315 being 315. He warmed up with it for 35 reps. I felt like such a girl working myself up over that poundage. I felt even worse when a guy he bounces with hit 5 plates on the incline for some reps... then went to flat and repped out 6 plates and some change... he was 230 at 5'11". Now, I just get bullshit at the small number of plates I use and my strength is going up! LOL. Work out with some stronger guys and you will play to the level of the competition!
Good Luck bro!
ps. You've got the required equipment.. We can see it in your avatar.. just fucking hammer it man!

man i did the same thing for awhile where all i did was db's and then i got back on bench to find my strength on there was just gone... it has alot to do with just bio-mechanics of the movements. at first i was puzzled but then figured it out

One huge thing that is highly overlooked by people looking to increase their bench, is their back work. Good lats get the bar off your chest quickly, which increases the chance that you'll be able to lock the weight out. The heavy negatives are also a good idea. They always worked to get me past a plateau.
