advice on what to buy please

Hi, I'm fairly new to the forum and would like some advice as to what suplements to buy.

Over the past 2 years of my training Ive been using any cheap brand of pure whey protien powder and creatine monohidrate caps.

I'm happy with my results but was wondering if there was anything better out there for adding lean muscle mass.

I have tryed reserching for myself but all products say that they are the best.

I was wondering about Isopure, and other protien and creatine mix products. I would however rather take pills cos I just leave them in my gym locker.

For a whey protein, I go with ON 100% Whey. Have tried Isopure, but couldn't stand the taste/consistency of it. Whey Isolates are the best overall, usually having the highest bioavailablility and fastest rate of absorbtion.....but tend to be a bit more expensive. If the cheap whey is working for you though, stick with that....no sense in buying something more expensive that will yield the same results.

As for creatine, Micronized powder seems to work the best, especially when taken with a high-glycemic carb drink (which speeds delivery of creatine to the muscles). Once again, if you're experiencing good results with cheaper stuff or pills......don't bother to change over to the more expensive kind. Stay with what works.

Try to stay away from supplements that promise results that seem "too good to be true".....usually it is. It can be easy to buy into phrases like " 3rd generation formula" and "promotes freakish pumps".....companies that say this about their supplements are mostly gimmicks. Also, stay with companies that are popular (i.e. Met-rx, EAS, ON, etc.) Most of their products aren't bs and actually do work.......otherwise they wouldn't be as popular as they've become. Just remember that there is no magic pill, powder or potion that will be the key to incredible gains (or losses). Supplements are only made to "help" with one's routine.

Thanks for the hit. My topic was getting cold.

Since last post I got a fresh 10lb tub of the cheap stuff (should keep me going for a while) I'm getting great gains from my new 10x3 program, so just taking more and more protien.

Thanks for the high GI glucose drink tip, I'll mix it with my Isotonic drink mix.

You could also try a creatine ester. If the creatine monohydrate gives you any stomach bloating or upset g.i. system then you might like the creatine ester better.

I agree with the post regarding ON Whey protein - by far the best value for money and a great protein powder.
As for what supplements you should use, you should provide some more information on what you are trying to do before this question can really be answered properly...
