Addendum to Gym Rules and Rant

i disagree in regards to the FARTS part....

i really hate it when I get done doin a really intense set of cable curls or pec dec flies and I am breathing all extra heavy and I have to inhale the ass someone just busted and walked away from.

No - I meant the OP guldukat - not you BBF.
It was a joke.

Right. And believe me, I've never heard that one before

:) I'm teasing you back. Yes, it is true. I don't post much, but I say a LOT when I do post...especially when I am having a little fun.

I think I noted that I come from a heavy writing background. 30-40 pg. literary analysis papers--all geared toward one big argument, all cohesive--were not unheard of.

I'm trying very hard to break out of that habit, because it is not always productive. A page to explain how to do DB curls would be bogus, right? But it's tough. And the fact that I type so fast, like 118 words/min., makes it too easy for me to do this.

Maybe I should get a secretary job :)

I was teasing about the fart part :)

Rev, BBF, my main men--thanks!

oh come on Sean...I train at Golds & if you dont want anyone talking to you-- wear headphones!!!

I am always surprised by how nice the serious trainers tend to be compared to the guys nwe to it all. Last week as I walked in the gym unbeknownst to me a used up cinema ticket fell out my pocket as i fished for my always elusive membership card, this totally built guy who I see a lot in the gym picks it up and follows me in just to give it me back!

yep. its allways the arched back, ass off the bench, slamming the bar on his chest idiot benching 225 for one horrid assisted rep who is the azz hol. he weighs about 160 low bf so he thinks he is big. one of them was benching next to me last week. im not a monster so i hope i am coming off ok. but im in the top 10% strength wise. my bf is high though 20%. been on the keto diet for 3 months. since then my bw has gone from a loose 235 to a tightining 210. bench from 135 for reps to 275 for 3 sets 5 reps. in 6 weeks!!!!! im there to work, and be friendly. if the person is working hard also. if he is an idiot, i ignore him/her.

Heh :)

With all respects m'lady MBH, I should not have to. It's just common gym etiquette to not start yapping at someone when they're in the middle of something. I would not go bother Roy Jones Jr. in the middle of a sparring session; likewise, I do not want someone yammering at me while I'm lifting something heavy (other than my training partner, and he's encouraging me, not talking about some irrelevant b.s. on the other side of the gym).

Of course, the day people are all courteous is the day rocket-propelled pigs will fly. So, when I'm not with my training partner, it's probably a good thing to consider.

Yes.

This kid was probably 220 or so, maybe 35% bodyfat. He bounced 225 five times, but once or twice strict would have buried him.

I think he's a football player for a local high school. I know this school very well, and it's always been style over substance. Instead of giving the kid some solid instruction such that he could one day be a pimple on Ironlion's lifting butt, they just encourage him to lift "at all costs."

If I was to do that, I would've nailed 405 many years ago.

You're doing awesome. Keep it up! :)

But yeah, I've seen this "ripped little teenager" type too. When I first started out, I was sorta one of them :bawling: But then, I never told bigger guys that they were doing something wrong, and I certainly didn't threaten them.

I agree about the talking to someone during a set. . that is disrespectful.

The person squatting, deadlifting, or bench pressing is trying to concentrate. . . leave them be. . leave them be.
