About military and bench press

What is the real difference between barbell and dumbell press?
I mean is there a real difference besides safety?

there is a big difference in the stabilizers that are recruited, aside from that and wrist angle, there is nothing else i can think of

But they would't affect the number of fibers recruited? thus making the bar yield better gains or more strenght

When most people press the dumbbells, they hold them more to the side of their head, where as the barbell stays in front of your face on the bottom part of the lift. I think the barbell produces better results because of this. Less strain on the shoulder too. At least for me.

dumbells definately hit yuor stabilizers a hell of a lot more IMO. I like to mix it up every now and then, throw in a lil DB for the BB...

I would guess more weight can be used on a barbell.

in most cases, yes... but i seem to be able to lift more on incline DB than BB....

That`s because you`ve been training the DB incline press more often than the barbell. jk lol that`s just a guess. I have no idea what you do, but if you did train it more that WOULD be a good reason.
