AB day anyone do one?

I have just made up my mind to do an ab day....not after a workout, not before bed, a whole ab day.

I did it today and I know I will be sorry tommorrow.

so this thread is to ask others if you do an ab day, and have done it for a while how do you feel it has helped you or hindered you?

I do one, sort of. I do cardio twice a week, and on those days, I'll start out doing about 15-20 minutes of ab work. It's nice because I was never able to do my abs when I was fresh before, because I always did them after my regular workouts. So in that sense, I think I get a little more bang for my buck on ab stuff.

It's a waste to do abs? Genetics and diet plays an imprortant role in all bodyparts. Are you saying that its a waste of time for me to do shoulders because benching hits them indirectly also. Its not a bad idea to focus on just abs for a day or two a week. consider it an extra workout. What kind of leg movement are you doing that put enough stress on the abs to actual give them a workout?

hack squats, squats, leg press, vertical leg press all hit abs

I think you should always be keeping your tummy tight and posture straight. That works your abs no matter what body part you're doing on top of any specific ab movements. Just my two cents.

I do an only ab workout 3 times a week. Usually its right after work, then I go back several hours later to do my regular workout. Doing abs when I'm fresh seems to really help, and I see a slight difference already.

thanks guys and Gymtime.

I have done it 3 times now since the last post and can already feel and see a difference..

just in case here is the workout.

run 1.5 miles.

then 4 sets of leg raises.

4 sets of hyperextentions.

4sets of oblique crunches.

4 sets of rope crunches.

I work abs 3 times a week after workouts. Somtimes I'll go to the gym on a rest day to spot my training partner and in between spots I do ab work.

diamond i keep see you saying that dont train abs, serioulsy yes abs are a lot of diet and genetics, but training will make them better if u didnt, of courese bodyfat matters, but training will definitely make an impact.
