Hey guys,
Stats:
Height 6'4
Weight 227lbs
Goal - More muscle in next 4 month. Look bigger (not been BB'ing long enough properly, don't know how much to realisticly expect)
Workout - Monday, tue, Wed Off, Thu, Fri, weekend OFF. Cardio 3-4 times a week (am in the military, so i dont really do it out of choice)
what i've heard is you need 1.5g of protein per/lbs to bulk up. I done my calculations and supposedly to bulk up i need 350g of protein a day. More on training days.
So i followed the guidelines, stuck with it for a month and went from 205lbs to 227 in weight. Sure i filled out abit. Clothes got slightly tighter. But i always been athletic built anyway (mesomorph type, I THINK). The only problem is, in my lifestyle, being in the military, i end up buying ALOT of ready food during breaks, about 4-5£ (about 6-7$ i suppose) each time + drinking about 3-4 weight gainer shakes a day, isnt cheap at all. I would love to cook my own food, but i just cant. Each time I was consuming over 600kcal, 50g protein. So 7 meals a day, i end up spending like 20$. Puts a hole in my wallet.
Anyway, the real question is can i cut down to about 30g of protein per meal and still build muscle? It would work out for me alot cheaper, because now i eat almost everything in double portions. Maybe i got the information wrong, maybe i dont need that much at all? It would work about 200g of protein a day.
Would i still bulk, or just stay lean and slowly put on muscle? Sorry for the long post, but i need to know. As i simply dont wanna give up this lifestyle, because it makes me feel great and healthy, just looking for a solution
