The Yankees hope they get more respect from the Athletics Tuesday than they do from Vegas oddsmakers, who peg them as underdogs.

The Yankees start Mike Mussina, who went 13-8 last season with a 4.41 ERA. The A's will counter with Rich Harden, who ended last season with a record of 10-5 with an ERA of 2.53.

New York comes in as a small road dog, as the line opened at 125 in favor of the hosts. The Athletics, who are 0-1 this season, face the Yankees and their 1-0 slate. The OVER/UNDER has been set at 8.

Joe Torre's troops played Oakland last game and came away with a 15-2 win, a game that went over 8. Oddsmakers had them as 110 favorites in that one.

Some trends to consider:
New York is 2-4-0 OU in its last 6 games
New York is 12-6-0 OU in its last 18 away
New York is 5-1-0 SU in its last 6 games after scoring more than 9 runs
New York is 6-1-0 OU in its last 7 games against Oakland
Oakland is 7-1-0 OU in its last 8 games at home against New York
Oakland is 6-1-0 OU in its last 7 games against New York
Oakland is 2-6-1 OU in its last 9 games
Oakland is 1-4-1 OU in its last 6 at home

Anyone else think Big Hurt is going to be bashing them out again? When he came back last year he was cracking them out like every other game.

If it wasn't for injuries he'd be one of the best of all time. That dude kills the ball everytime he makes contact.

I didn't see this even money option
will be betting NY later
