24k's *getting ready for 2006* log

Thanks ladies, the photoshoot was alot of fun, and the photographer was very happy with me, he didn't need to give me too much instructions, I'm a natural baby :lmao: We did like 15 different styles and outfits, and he took like 50 shots each outfit, I was done in less than 2 hours which was great, because I'm paid by the shoot I thought I could have been there all day, but nope.


Also saw my trainer yesterday, he's happy with my progress, and is glad my body is back on track however I won't be looking my best at my 1st show this season, so we decided that I'll do this show, but use it as a practice and my main focus will be on the Toronto show, which is 6 weeks after this 1, so I have a total of 8 weeks to get it together, which will be more than enough time, I'm alittle disappointed cause this was the show I had my heart set on all year, but hey there's some things that are out of your control at times and you can only do so much, yes they could have been prevented but at the same time how is anyone to know how you would react to something you've never tried, oh well definiately a bumpy road this year, but definiately a learning experience and not to mention how sweet victory will taste at the end of it. :)

Here's a few pics from today, when the photographer sends me some pics I'll share them with you girls, but that may take a few weeks he said.

I actually like the new hair too, at first I thought it might be too light, but it looks nice with a tan.

Buns I train Calves heavy for 16 reps, hold them at the top for 2 seconds, Standing calf raises for 3 sets of 16 and when I say heavy I'm talking between 260lbs to 300lbs, twice a week.

I have sissy calves.....I think toddlers have stronger calves......I can barely complete 4 sets of 20 with #30. :bawling:

I know I know it takes time. :worried:

How do you prevent your sholders from not getting those little indent deals for the calf raise machine?

I am always impressed by your strength :D I think I might had to start training my calves twice a week even at my leaneast my calves where just barely vissible in heals.

QT i am with you ... ^^ ... at 2 times a week they are BETTER, but at 9.8 % (last August) NOWHERE near where they needed to be... abs veins, striations, quads were sick, but calves... UGH ... I'm going to 3 days a week now, just need to work out the kinks ...and I will be taking Arnolds advice on calf work ...

ANyway...

I was thinking of trying the hack machine for calf raises the padding on that seems better.

I have size on my calfs no problem just missing defintion one the most stubborn areas for fat for me is the back of my legs.

Hello ladies, just a quick update PEAK WEEK has finally arrived woohoo :elephant: The boyfriend had to re-format the computer cause it was acting up so I haven't had the internet in a few days :(

Anyway I feel like friggin' sh*t, so depleted I've had no complex carbs for 2 weeks now, with the exception of a planned cheat meal that my trainer told me to have last week. Damn the beginning of peak week is a pain in the ass, can't wait for Thursday to just sit back and eat with my feet up. :)

Yes I'll have pics soon laides, it's been an incredible journey this year, and you know what's so funny is I'm actually very nervous this year, more than last year, I was told that there will be like 60 to 70 girls competing in this show this year, so I got to stand the hell out! Oh well I know I worked my ass off this year, so hopefully it pays off, if not well it was definiately a learning experience.

So this year I purposely gained 25 pounds, and in about 8 weeks lost 22 pounds.

Today is the last day of the sodium load thank goodness cause I'm looking like a blow fish right now, haha I guess the sodium did it's job.

Thanks QT I'll definiately be there, and they just announced today that they will have 2 classes in fitness model in TO short and tall, I'm excited about that. We'll definiately have to meet this year girl.

lol @ SG my bunns are here ;)

So just alittle update, I took 2 days from my diet started back on it on Tuesday, and enjoyed many treats, and in those 2 days I have to say I think my only protein source was 1 shake in the 2 days, I just couldn't bring myself to eat any meat, the thought of it, made me want to vomit, so I listened to my body ;) and ate lots of fruit.

So I was back at the gym on Monday and felt good about it, but yesterday I was so tired and miserable. And today I woke up to go to cardio this morning, but never went I'm still so tired, my eyes are burning and my body aches from my neck to my toes. So I think for the next week I'm going to take a break from the am cardio, just do my weights and my 20 minute cardio after the weights (remember I was doing 2 cardios a day)

Another thing is that my tired yet, I'm having a hard time sleeping, I go to sleep, but wake up in the middle of the night, and when I wake up I'm so tired like I didn't sleep all night.

I was reading up on Biosignature Modulation, which is a system that Charles Poliquin developed and basicly he says that your skinfold measurements are related to your hormones in your body and where your body stores it's fat. Like this year, I noticed it's been difficult getting the fat on my abs and "love handles", so according to his theories, I would have an issue with stress (cortisol) and insulin.


Current diet looks like this:
Meal 1
1 C green veggies
protein powder
1 tbsp coconut oil

Meal 2
1 C green veggies
3 oz chicken
3g fish oil

Meal 3
1 C green veggies
3 oz chicken
3g fish oil

Meal 4
1 C green veggies
3 oz chicken
3g fish oil

Meal 5
3 oz carrots
2 tbsp almond butter
protein powder

Training is a circuit training 2 days on, 1 day off, with 20 minutes of cardio at the end. No cardio in the am for about a week.

Oh and I'll have more pictures from the show tonight.

Nels, actually I've used ZMA before and liked it, thanks for reminding me of that, I'll take some tonight, since I still have some. Hopefully getting some good sleep will help reduce the stress I've put on my body, cause I'm feeling it now.

The opening of the show went on for 20 minutes which was little kids dancing
What the hell kind of a pre-show is THAT?!?!? No offense, but are people really there to watch a bunch of little kids?


Anyway whatever what's done is done, I have been debating whether I should compete with this organization anymore, not whether or not I will compete. I have decided that I will be doing their Toronto show, and they just added fuel to my fire, and I'm more determined now that ever before, I have 6 weeks and I plan on bringing to the stage a sick phyisque, I don't really care anymore if they love me or hate me, but they will remember me, I guarantee it! And I really feel sorry for the girls that will share the stage with me.
Thaaaaaat's what I was lookin' for!!!!!!!

On another note I was in the gym on Monday and back on the diet today, I enjoyed a few cheats over the last few days, and I think my new favorite is Ben & Jerry's chocolate fudge brownie topped with Natty peanut butter

My body is so sore it's crazy, I still ache from head to toe, and right now my back is killing me, right around the kidney area. :worried:

Iwent to the gym and today and left without working out, I just hurt too much.

Today's update, I slet 11 hours, got up cause the damn phone was ringing, went back to bed for another 3 hours woke up again ate something, cleaned the house went back to bed for 2 hours, now I'm up again, but feel like I didn't feel I'm still exhausted and still ache from head to toe, my joints really hurt bad.

I'm going to see a doctor tomorrow to get a general check up and some blood work, just to make sure there's nothing seriously wrong.

OH and just a note, my disgestive system problems are better. Geez man can someone give me a break it's always something with me, once 1 thing gets better it's another.
 
So I went to see my doctor, and he said your body is stressed to its limits and it's very fatigued so you need to rest for 4 to 6 weeks :rolleyes: Just great!!!! I also had blood work done so I'll get the results in a few days.....


Anyway I'm tired again going to take a nap :nighty: , I slept 11 hours last night.

8 weeks out from my first show, 9 weeks out from my 2nd show and 10 weeks out from my 3rd show... uh can you see the pattern :evil: ;) ... doing 3 shows back to back this year!!!!

I decided to start keeping track of what I'm eating on here again, I'm not trying to gain or lose weight, just trying to eat normal :confused: whatever that means, I don't know what normal means, lol which is alittle sad, oh well, I'll do my best.

Sleep last night looked like this: went to bed at 12am, tossed and turned til about 2am, slept from 2am to 3am, woke up played on EF cause I couldn't sleep, went back to bed at 4am, tossed and turned til about 5am, got back to sleep only for theF*ing doorbell to ring at 6am no I didn't answer it. Tossed and turned somemore until about 6:30am then slept until 9:30.

10:00
1/2 grapefruit
1C strawberries
1 tbsp of blueberries
spinkles of stevia
2 fish oil
20g protein powder (1/2 whey, 1/2 casein)

5:00pm 1/2 muscle milk

7:30pm 2 protein cookies (damn you QT, it's all your fault!!!!) and some carrots

8:30pm fresh veggie juice (spinach, celery, and carrots)

10:30pm warm milk and 2 tbsp of almond butter

Water intake: 4 litres

Note- I'm having a hard time getting any protein down, I can't stomach the sight of meat right now. I'm also going to keep track of my sleeping like I did today, for my reference.

SG and Bunny awww I love the kitties I hope I can knock out like that 1 SG night, lol he looks comfy.

SB lol the sleep police will do nothing for me, but if you see the sandman please send him my way.

Miss24K, I am really at a loss for words on this one, except to do your best to be PATIENT and know that you will heal. It will take time, but you can take advantage of this period to really get some thinking and decision-making done on ALL aspects of your life. I admit to knowing pretty much nothing about meditation, but I can only imagine that something like that would help, tremendously.

As a Christian, I can say that there is nothing more "comforting" and "calming" then spending time in the Bible and expressing your gratitude to God, but I don't know if that is your thing. Spending time focusing on all the good is soooooo healthy. Either way, my point is actually to spend some time thinking, actually seeking out and being grateful for the good things in your life (no matter what your beliefs), which will have healing properties in its own way.
