16 weeks out on Monday and discouraged

I planned on competing in a July 14-15th figure show. 16 weeks out starts Monday and I am VERY discouraged. I got my bodyfat tested at the gym and it was 25%! The guy did a 5 pt test. I've been training hard and eating clean for quite some time and I just don't see how in the world I'll be able to get down to 11 or 12% in 16 weeks.

Do you ladies think this is even possible or should I put my dream on hold?

Thanks in advance...

How long have you been training? What do you consider a "clean" diet?

You CAN lean out in 16 weeks! I went from 23% to 11.5% in 12 weeks.

I only eat extra lean ground turkey, egg whites, whole eggs, brown rice, sweet potatoes, fish oils, fish, some fruit, some skim dairy, and lots of fibrous green veggies.

Thanks for that, ScorpioGirl. My trainer flat out told me that I could not be ready. It really, really hurt...because no one tells me that I can't do something. I think you had a journal for your competition, right? I'll check that out.

how about posting some pics? BF tests soemtimes are wayyyy off. go by the mirror...do YOU think your 25%?

Well, I don't compete - it's just a SERIOUS hobby! lol

Yes, you CAN do it. At what time are you eating during the day? - post your diet and times along with any supps you take. How much water are you drinking? Also, post your training. We'll all help you here!

Can you post up your current diet EXACTLY - not just a list of stuff but how much each portion is, when you eat it? E.g.

Meal 1: 6 am
1 whole egg + 4 egg whites
1/2 c oatmeal
coffee

Meal 2: 9 am
4 oz chicken
2 c spinach

etc.

Also your training regimen. You'd be amazed what can happen in 4 months w/ a tight program that is constantly tweaked for optimized progress.

This is what I am currently doing

Meal 1: 6:00 AM

.5 cup oats
3 egg whites
.5 cup fat free cottage cheese
.33 cup skim milk powder

Meal 2: 9:00 AM

4 oz extra lean ground turkey
.5 tsp olive oil
green beans
fish oils

Meal 3: 12:00 PM

4 oz extra lean ground turkey
.5 tsp olive oil
broccoli
fish oils

Meal 4: 3:00 PM

Casein powder - 24g protein
.66 cup oats
small banana

Training

Meal 5: 6:00 PM

whey isolate powder - 25g protein
.66 cup oats
.75 cup blueberries

Meal 6: 9:00 PM

.75 cup fat free cottage cheese
.5 oz walnuts

I drink at least a gallon of water a day. No supplements at this time.

I've been doing a heavy pull/light push/light pull/heavy push routine for about 12 weeks now. Focused on deadlifts, squats, bench press with some accessory work as well. Cardio was 2 days of HIIT or fartlek training. I am on active rest doing 3 full body days per week.

I can not believe your trainer told you that you couldn't do the show, from what I saw in your pics you have a good base, and I thinks it's possible for you to do the show.

First thing I would do if I were you would be to tell that trainer to kiss your beauitful ass!

I agree w/M24K!!!! What a drag to hear your trainer tell you negatives!!!!!

One more question.....are you logging in fitday? www.fitday.com
