Choose my new car

OK, so sometime in the near future, I'm getting a new car. I'm keeping my current vehicle, because Goddamnit I do all the work on it myself and it's mine and nobody can have it and suck my dick etc etc....I currently have a 2000 Chevy Blazer with 135k miles on it. It's my first and only vehicle I've ever had, and it's still a beast. It's not going anywhere. I actually just put a brand new hood on and I'm thinking about putting a new engine in with about 50k miles on it for only $675.

I'm leaning towards the Jaguar XKR. It's a poor man's Aston Martin V8 with great performance and it looks sick as shit. The old XKR chassis from around 2005 looked like dickburger, but the newest chassis looks really slick. I've found some used 2009 models with 10-30k miles from $40-60,000. That's not bad at all. Maintenance doesn't look too hard to work on either, I've watched a lot of videos on it.

This won't be a daily driver. I'm still going to drive my blazer until it dies. This is going to be for fun. Imagine the scenario:

date #1 in blazer

if girl is cool, date #2 in XKR

/face melts

I bet if you look you could find an Aston in that price range. Depreciation on the high dollar cars is staggering.

Or a low-miles BMW M5 or M6.

Why spend so much on a car?
That is quite an upgrade.
Your first car is a Gladiator's kind of car.

Because I have the money? Because I want to?

And I really don't care what anybody thinks about my Blazer. I like it. That's all that matters.

buy a house, not a stupid car

oh and

"oh look at me i can buy a car"

That's how I feel... my diesel truck has >200k and I'm going to keep driving it until I wreck it bad enough the body isnt salvageable or I can pay cash for a new 3/4 ton tricked out diesel. At the point I can pay cash for around $80k I'll probably look back and laugh thinking about paying that much for a truck.

If Sam Walton could drive a beat up pickup until the day he died, well I dont see a ton of reason to get a flashy car.

I just test drove a Porsche Cayenne Turbo with 42K miles for 60K. It had 500hp, twin turbo charged 32 valve V-8 and was a beast. It had the carbon fiber package as well. It retailed for 115K brand new....fuck I want it baaaaaaaad.

My votes for that breh

Ill take a look at that if there's one around. The thing about cars is, until you drive it, you have no idea if you'll like it or not. I could test drive the xkr and absolutely hate it.

Somebody mentioned a bugatti veyron. I actually saw one on the road about three weeks ago. I was like holy shit wtf

Bmw's are too much for the performance they put out.. i cant say alot bc i dont drive yet but id rather take a c6 z06 and smoke any bmw anyday.. the price for a c6 z06 is the price for a higher end bmw

Your looking at numbers. Ive driven Bmw and F-body. Two different worlds.
And two different concepts

No not really. Your still thinking of Horsepower. BMWS handle like a dream. Especially thd Awd ones.

true.. but u hardly see any suped up bmws bc they are expensive and expensive to fix up and maintenance wise.. u see more suped up vettes.. totally just my 2 cents. my stepdad had a 1000whp c5 z06 and recently just sold a c6 vette w/ z51 package

If I was wanting to go with outright dominance in performance, I would go with the ZR1. I don't like the looks of the M series, sorry. Just personal preference.

Why buy used vehicle for $40-60k?

Buy new and get it serviced free imo

I like the new Optimas, but I'm not richz as everybor here. If I was id buy a life

Thats the SHO right pick?
Too bad its a ford :-(. Other wise it would be a badass Grama car.
Its still better than the Malibu though..

compared to

So you're saying this is the best deal for $39K?

Even giving up 2 seconds on the 0-60, I'd rather have an Audi A4 than the SHO any day. Or a stripper 328i. I'll take nimble but not fast over fast but not nimble.

I bet even a stripper V6 Mustang would take the SHO on a twisty road like the "Tail Of The Dragon".

comparing apples to oranges

buy your Audi ... it will look sharp behind the tow truck going in for repairs all the time

The Taurus fits a niche that doesn't exist. And at $39K for a TAURUS, I bet depreciation is a bitch. How about coughing up another $2K and going with the Acura TL?

And Audis made after about 2006 or so have been pretty reliable.

cum on bro, that's verbatim from the article

knot really and the repair costs are high

Taurus is just a better car ... don't be a domestic car hater sheep

haha menstrual samurai that's funny. Did you pace infront of your computer for 10 minutes before you came up with that one? It was totally worth it cause it totally lands bro.

:lmao:

if cuming up with a "good one" was correlated to pacing, I suggest you start training for an ultra marathon before your next poast

just sayin'

<facepalm> omg what are you?

I must now insist for the second time in this thread you stfu. If I started calling you tablefuck do you think we could start a bromance or something? Just be two little stupid fags calling each other shit that 4th graders could come up with?

What article?

4300 pounds. That's just too much for any "sporting" vehicle.

If the domestics made a car that fit my preferences, I'd consider.

http://www.autoguide.com/manufacturer/ford/2012-ford-taurus-sho-review-1724.html

the Taurus SHO is stuck in a strange no-man’s land in the performance world. Nobody considering an import performance sedan is going to look at this vehicle, and the Mopar twins make a much bigger statement

thought you were old like me

Just saw that one. I must have gotten behind.
