Your grip for ME bench stuff

I'm curious what you guys use for your ME bench stuff. Close, medium, comp? Do you vary your grip?

I want to know because after this meet this weekend I am going to go back to working my weaknesses more. Close grip is obviously weaker than my wide grip, so I was going to be using that more. Is this a good idea? Would you still keep some wide stuff in there?

Well, I typically work a close grip for me ME work so that my lockout strength gets worked more.

However, a few months ago, I realized I wasn't comfortable with competition grip anymore. So alot of times on ME day I will work up to where I strain on close grip, and then move out to my comp grip and get another rep or two in (usually with my shirt on).

Also, during De days, I have now gone to working my competition grip more, as I was only going out to where my pinkies were on the ring - but now for 3 of my sets I move my index fingers to the ring.

I do basically the same as AnimalMass .. I start out with forfingers touching the smoothe, then I will go out to pinkies about half an inch from rings for final couple ME attempts. I also use 3 grips on DE.. First 3 sets with Forefingers on smoothe, next 3 half way from smoothe to rings, and final 3 with forefingers on rings....

for ME, i did middle fingers on rings. comp grip for me was index on rings

for DE, i did 3 sets of pinky, 3 sets of middle finger, and 3 sets index finger on rings

i always go close to med grip, the only reason i would to a comp grip is for rev band bench. for me the higher the board the closer the grip. for 5 boards i have a pinky on the smooth part almost(by the way im 6'6' so i have very long arms) and with two boards i am about a thumbs lentgh away from smooth or slightly further
