Another hot day - but I did get into the kitchen and cook my chicken last night :)

The car is lots of fun - great to drive - great on gas! Much better than the truck was.

THREE WEEKS EXACTLY TILL SURGERY DAY!!!

Decent workout last night - abs are sore today. Stayed light with my chest exercises - Didn't go heavier than 95 pounds on the flat bench, but I did 15-20 reps per set. Also threw in some dips and got bodyweight x 13!!! PR for me, wooowhooo!

Dinner - Whatever looks convenient at the store when I'm there :) :)

9:30 or 10 PM
At home (overdue) Pedicure.
Finally renting Brokeback Mountain to see my boys Jake and Heath. Together.
More Jell-O. I am digging the lime jell-o with sugar free cool whip.

That is some awesome dipping, WW.

How are you doing in the heat?? I am miserable, thank God for A/C because I am not built for this weather.

Nice job on the PRs! and.....:lmao: @ Heath and Jake. Together.

snicker...snicker lol

Ooooh!! A new car - what did you get?? And what'cha getting done in surgery?

It's been a miserable week, hasn't it? So much better today though - We had some short but severe storms yesterday around 6 PM - Did you?

! I have been shuffling from the air conditioned office to the air conditioned car to the air conditioned gym, then right home to air conditioning there. I saw on the news this AM that yesterday we had the first reported deaths here in NY that are heat-related. That's HOT.

Bunny, scorpiogirl - I have been feeling really strong! I wanna be like BiggT when I grow up, lol... :D

I hit my 13 dips earlier in the week, and got 205 x 7 last night. I also threw in some pull-ups. My new goal is to be able to do more than one. I'm up to five - Last night was the first night I could do more than 3.5 or 4.

Yes, a new car! I traded in my big gas-guzzlin' Escalade for a nice sensible Acura TL. I ended up with a silver one with the two-tone gray and black interior. It's a 2006 demo with about 6000 miles on it. It drives and handles soooo nice and the best thing is the 28-30 mpg. The second best thing is the ice cold a/c.

Regarding surgery - The more exciting of the two topics, hehehe - I have decided to proceed with breast implants. Dr Salzberg in Tarrytown, NY.

As I've mentioned before, my office is closing in Dec 2006. But I am still a little uneasy about returning to work after the surgery - So ladies - any advice, words of wisdom, or 'been-there, done that' for me???

WW, it didn't storm, but from about 3PM until bedtime, it looked like it was going to at any second. And, it is equally as miserable out today, lol.

Tarrytown, NY?? Why does that sound familiar?.....is that the setting for The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, lol.....I used to always watch the cartoon around Halloween when I was a kid.

BTW....5 pullups is excellent, you're pretty close to being like BigT in that department right now.......remind me to tell you of the time this 11 or 12 year old female gymnast showed me up on the chinning bar.

What nice scenery, thats the first thing to catch my eye and of course the crystal blue waters.....and was that a bikini you were wearing? lol

I haven't had the boob-surgery myself, so I'm looking forward to hearing your experience.....My lease is up on my Ford Explorer in a couple of months, so I'm thinking about what to get next.....

Thanks Jens! I will look even better when I fill otu that 'kini top, hhehehehheh... :bikinimom

Will you lease another truck? Do you want to stay with Ford, or go foreign?

Afternoon, y'all!

I have a stadium buddy, so will be hitting the gym for shoulders and triceps, then cardio outside - stairs and walking/jogging the track. My sister has a softball game, so I might check that out.

Dinner- 6 oz chix breast, 1/2 cup brown rice, broccoli, soy sauce

:wavey: Cardio at the Stadium?! How FUN!!!

Hi Bunny!!! How are you? My workout last night on Monday was HOT but so GOOD! At the gym, I went with a little lighter, hitting 18-20 reps with only 60 second rests in-between sets. Triceps are sore today.

The stadium was also good. It is used for high school sports, and the Empire Games and semi-pro football. There was a field hockey game going on when I got there. Since the inside track was closed, we ran on the outside (1/2 mile track) for two miles. Then I did stairs - all different kinds including hopping from bleacher to bleacher - all the way up the stands. Tough stuff, but so good! Then I walked one more mile before I went home.

I also had my final consultation (pre-surgery) yesterday morning. Woot! :p

HEY :velvett: You eating enough?!?!?!?!? *ahem*

Funny you said that... I was just talking to someone about this because I hadn't been over to fitday.com in a looooong time, so on Monday I checked my calories and I was around 1600. Probably not enough, but I don't know why I second guessed it - normally I would be STARVING if I was doing cardio and I was under 2000. What else would you add in and at what time during the day - stuff that's 'good'?

Did the doc give you a set time from how long you have to take off post-op? I'm sure it depends on your recovery & how fast you heal, but I heard minimum 2 months Under the muscle? Sorry if you already posted about this ;)

OoooOoOoOooh, I know! But too much chunky monkey makes this girl chunky!! BiggT is a big fan of plain vanilla ice cream. It *would* taste good mixed up with some vanilla whey, I guess. FYI, my family runs a family-owned dairy where they not only process & make all of their own milk and other dairy products, but have an ice cream store. You would be SHOCKED at the number of people who come in during the morning hours for a 'breakfast' 'ice cream' 'shake'. It makes me want to hurl just thinking about it.

SURGERY UPDATE-
Getting nervous! Very comfortable and confident with my doctor and size, etc etc... reading a lot in this forum ... pre-op notes have been on-point with what my doctor has told me to expect; lurking in MM and TSO's logs to get a feel for what I'm in for AFTER. I have this expectation to be up and around (and fine!!) a few days post-op. I am also worried about the break in training and weight gain. Thoughts on diet, post-op?????

FOOD TODAY-7:30 AM ~ 30 gram whey shake made with water, ice, 1/2 banana, 1 teaspoon anbp

11 AM ~ Food delayed. Front receptionist put in her ONE WEEKS notice and I had to meet with her and recover/regroup. 1/2 cup steel cut oats with 1 teaspoon anpb, teaspoon sugar free maple syrup, 24 oz coffee

1:30 PM ~ 150 Ezekiel wrap with leftover turkey breast, mixed greens, small amount of dressing and tomato ~ baby carrots & green pepper slices

4 or 5 PM ~ Kashi TLC granola bar in Pumpkin Spice Flax flavor. 4g fiber, 6g protein, 6 g fat, 180 calories

7 or 8 PM ~ turkey burger with home-made salsa, maybe another wrap, broccoli

9 or 10 PM ~ Sugar free ice pop

TRAINING TODAY-
trying to keep the calories lower and the cardio up. Light-high reps w/legs tonight, followed by sprints and stairs at the stadium. Plan is to sprint the straights and jog the rest on the quarter mile track for three laps, then walk a lap, then do a full set of stairs. Then repeat for a total of three miles, three sets of stairs. Then throw the football around to cool down.

TRAINING TODAY- cardio again but not at the stadium (30-60 mins) and abs/triceps

I really liked TSO's side-by-side pictures of her in a white tank before and after. I plan to go home and take a before picture tonight. I am also making a mental list of clothes hanging in my clothes. They are labeled 'NO WAY THIS WILL FIT WITH THE NEW RACK'..... :p

So, thank you!! I am excited for me! Or as excited as can be. I think I restricted carbs & calories too much this week and I am very low energy today.

MONDAY AUGUST 21st

SURGERY UPDATE - Only two full days to go - The big day begins very early on Thursday. I am off all supplements and I am taking two multi-vitamins each day. I plan to just hit the gym and do 'surgery prep' over the next few days ... Getting more nervous about the reaction from 'the ladies' at work. Over the weekend, I had my hair highlighted. I added in some chocolate brown and red/auburn streaks with the normal golden blonde. I just wanted to go a little darker now that summer is almost over, but nothing at all extreme. But everyone at work was yapping about it until lunch time! I want to be able to brush it off, but I'll admit that it did bother me. What I really think is that they all need to get a life and worry about their own heads, not mine!! I also stocked up on healthy foods for my week off of work post-op and bought some new comfy pillows for my couch and chaise lounge.

FOOD TODAY- Not logged into Fit Day, but this is what I probably what plan to go with post-op... Between 1500 and 2000 calories per day and probably lower carb that today.

7:30 AM ~ 40 gram whey shake made with water, ice. one slice brown rice bread with thin spread of ANPB.

9:30 AM ~ 24 oz coffee

11 AM ~ 1/2 cup steel cut oats with sugar free maple syrup and cinnamon

1:30 PM ~ 4 oz turkey, one thin slice swiss with lettuce in a 150 calorie Ezekiel wrap. six very small and very sweet strawberries

4:30 PM ~ 2 oz turkey, baby carrots, celery

7 or 8 PM ~ turkey burger, cajun blackened green beans (they rocked last night!). diet mountain dew. water.

9 or 10 PM ~ Sugar free ice pop(s) which are getting addicting!

TRAINING TODAY- abs/triceps/biceps and 30 mins cardio

Heeeeey! Don't laugh at me - I did have an IV once when I had mono and was dehydrated. So there :P

All in all - It will be positive - I am sure of it. I am happy and healthy both physically and mentally so recovery will be a piece of cake! I need to stop thinking about cake, actually - so lets say it will be a walk in the park.

Re- the efbf. I am (again) laughing out loud and almost peeing myself that someone knew what he was referencing. I don't want to talk about chugging raw egg beaters anymore though. The thought of surgery is making me queezzy enough!

Talk to y'all soon! ;)

Sounds like the efbf didn't do his job then. :P

Exactly a week post op, I am back at work w/no complications.

Never had unbearable pain but I did take my pain medication religiously for the first three days. Almost passed out twice from low blood sugar. For the first time in my life I have NO appetite. Go figure..... :mix:

How's things at work going? Any looks yet? ;)

~~*~~ SURGERY INFO ~~*~~

Arrived at 6:30 AM on Thursday morning. Was on the table around 7 AM. Coming out of anesthesia was just fine - pretty easy and I got right up to go use the potty - and clipped the wall with my new rack on my way to go pee.

I was home and on the couch around 1 PM (and there was a 90 minute ride back). I shuffled from the couch to the bed and to the bathroom for the next two days. Couldn't sit for too long or my whole body got stiff and sore. Also- You truly to don't realize how many motions engage your pec muscles. As I said before - no appetite. Low blood sugar late Thursday night, almost passed out. Also went three and a half days before *really*going to the bathroom* and I have to shout out a thanks to my mom for bringing me some of her fiber pills which finally did the trick.

Saturday, I made a trip to Target and to the diner for lunch. Used frozen peas for swelling.

Sunday was quiet, I walked two miles on Monday.

Tuesday was my first day driving. Did some running around to the bank, picked up a football visor as a favor, went to Wal-Mart for a few things. I felt kind of hunched over at times. Used frozen peas for swelling.

Wednesday was my 1st post op visit to the doctor and I finally went bra shopping and got back to the gym for some light cardio. I removed my compression bandage for the first extended period of time (the strap used for sub muscular surgeries that kind of keeps the implants pushed down & in perfect position). Sore after shopping - Used frozen peas for swelling.

All in all, right now - Left side is hypersensitive and right side is pretty numb. Some nice bruising on the right side long the bra line under my breast. Also in the cleavage area. Right side is still swollen (considerably more than the left).

There is one girl still here at work that knows about the surgery. I told her to keep me posted - I want to know if she hears any gossip. I am wearing clothes that hide it pretty well (I think). People just seem to be very interested in what I did in the past week - where'd I vacation to, etc etc.

Keep your fingers crossed for me - If people ask me whats different, I'm going to tell them it's my hair!!!

Any looks? Weeeelll... Somehow, and I don't know how YET - the office gossip, this fat 25 year old kid who I thought was gay until he got his 1st girlfriend and got married a few weeks ago - asked my friend John if he knew about 'you know who getting a you know what'............ F'ING BASTARD!! The whole office knows. Good news, 25% of the office goes today with a Sept 1st seperation date.

I am going to speak with Mr Gossip to put an end to all of this. I think it's a good idea to be very direct and to the point. If I want to find out who told him, I need to be direct. And I don't care to help him, but I do care to set him straight... I figure that in a way I'm helping him because that stuff won't fly at his next job and he needs to learn that - better this way than the hard way (me kicking his butt)!

Go up to his face and ask him if there is something he feels you should know because apparently he felt the whole office should, why leave you out .. then take a pic of his face :)

Your efbf can adjust his attitude if need be.

So good news, 25% of the office goes today with a Sept 1st seperation date so don't need to deal with their crap.

THE BAD NEWS IS THAT EVERYONE IS HUGGING ME GOODBYE. OUCH. :mix:

UPDATE ON MR GOSSIP-
My best friend worked with me. We share everything, including the same first name. She got a little weird when she was laid off in August. We worked in the same department, I got promoted so have a later separation date. Anyway, IT WAS HER THAT TOLD MR GOSSIP ABOUT MY SURGERY. I found out when finally confronted him. I am very sad and hurt and pretty freakin' angry. I was shaking I was so shaken.

UPDATE ON SUPPLIMENTS-
Back on Levorex as of today!

UPDATE ON THE GYM-
I've been walking and I went once in the past week to do cardio (20 minutes treadmill, 20 minutes bike). I plan to go back tonight for some light legs.

UPDATE ON THE DIET-
Pretty consistent with what I planned. For today, I had
M1 - one scoop whey with activa yogurt, ice, water
M2 - four egg whites
M3 - 4 oz turkey breast w/lettuce in Ezekiel wrap
M5 - celery sticks and pepper strips
M6 - TBD

Wow that is really uncool... I am so sorry. Was Mr. Gossip apologetic or carefree?

Glad you are feeling better :). Nice job keeping clean.. the girls are prolly hungry ahahah

Mr Gossip was STUNNED. He was stammering and stuttering almost. I called my now ex-best friend to confirm what happened. Interesting note- her stepmom and my mom have been best friends since grade school. They both told me not to hate the hater. I'm letting it go, but I can't/won't talk to her anytime soon.

Ate clean all weekend too!! I had a small ice cream cone yesterday (:chomp: ) but that was it. Workouts have been great too! Lots of low impact cardio and high rep, light weight BURNING leg stuff.

M1 - two scoops whey with 1/2 banana, skim, ice
M2 - 4 oz turkey breast w/lettuce & honey mustard on ezekiel toast, pepper strips, baby carrots
M3 - 1/2 cup fiber one w/100 calorie activa yogurt
M5 - chicken breast over mixed greens
M6 - TBD

Thanks Velvett, I needed those!!

Off to the gym now. I was trying for 2 one liter bottles of water at work today and I got it. I also got to the bathroom pretty often, lol. And I always think of Super Troopers and a 'liter of cola' when I talk about it.

Have a good night!! ;)

LOL I love your location... Guess mine girls will forever remain children lol hahahaha :D

Ha! I thought we were setting up a fundraiser so we contribute to Bunny's Grow The Twins fund??

My updated location should be 'back in the gym'. It feels so good to be there.

Question though - I need your advice! I am already 'feeling' the lack of weight training - I weighed myself and found that I am already losing weight, even if it is only three pounds. But I feel like it is totally muscle mass that I am losing. Do you think it's all in my head... if not, how do I fight it?

The muscle mass you lost/will lose , I am sure you will recover it no problem and be back to where you were before, muscle memory. DO NOT freak out about losing muscle & start overdoing it then possibly getting hurt or affecting your new friends.

Through personal experience if the scale was dropping & I wasn't training, I definitely think muscle loss is inevitable. I think I took 3 weeks then 2 weeks then 4 weeks off total and I looked flat & depleted. Whether I was eating a caloric deficit or excess while NOT training, I lost muscle either way. The only way I think you can be certain is if you got your bf done before & compare that to now and look at the LBM, even THEN I think there is a margin for error. If you are eating maintenance, NOT below, that is one of the best ways to well, 'maintain' ... but there still may be some loss, just prevents too much if you know what I mean.

I think it is important that you nourish your body while the insides are trying to recover though, and not limit veggies (all the colors), fruit & other nutrionally plentiful foods. This MAY not be in line with your current diet.

If I were you I would focus on what you're doing, getting back in there, baby steps, working yourself up to 'more' weight ... you'll get back to where you were, your mind is in the right place and that is all that matters :)

Tired today. Going to hit the gym around 5:30 or 6 PM for at least 30 mins of cardio, some calf raises and walking lunges. Also thinking about hitting the tanning bed. Bunny might yell, but it's been raining so much and it will feel SO good.

Figured out why I'm still sore/swollen on the right side - Its the position of my desk/chair and the movement between my mouse and keyboard. Def causes my pecs to tighten up. I don't know how to change it. I've already fiddled w/my chair a bit.

4 PM - 1.5 liters of water down, another half or full bottle to go!!

M1 - whey shake with one cup skim
M2 - tuna/lettuce on ezekiel toast, peppers, baby carrots
M3 - medium granny smith apple
M4 - 1/2 cup fiber one w/skim
M5 - ground sirlion burger and broccoli
M6 - TBD - Need ANPB - Will want 100 calorie bag of popcorn

Thanks girl! I remember you being out of the gym awhile back. I thought that if the scale was dropping & I'm not training my upper body - that I will begin to lose muscle. I don't want to get flabby and need to get my bf done. Also, take pics maybe?? Also need to make sure I am eating enough. I should hit up fit day this week but I should be between 1300-2000 calories on any given day. I am not limiting veggies - never do - but what would you say my macros should be? Taking my vitamins and supps, eat at least one piece of fruit per day, and I am taking in less protein then I was before when training really hard.

Thanks for the advice. I am focusing on cardio but even there I kind of fizzle out after 30 or 40 minutes.
I guess I just need reassurance that I WILL get back to where I was. My 'fat days' are haunting me, too.... You talk about muscle memory, I have fat memory, lol....

lol girl you are an adult & in charge of your own skin. :rose: I would never :)
I LOVE tanning.. LOVE it ... I miss it so friggin much. So relaxing .. RIP tan blonde bunny lol :D

I just want to second that you'll have NO problems getting back to where you were.....in fact all athletes take an extended 'deload' at times and take up to a month (sometimes even more in the case of 'in-season' athletes in most sports) of non-training and active recovery. Just think of yourself as playing a sport, and this is your in-season, where you back off from the weightroom stuff. You'll recharge mentally, any nagging little pain or joint issues you may have had will go away, and when you come back and reacclimate yourself to hard training, you should actually surpass where you used to be.....it'll be fun making progress at such a fast rate when you come back, so you have that to look forward to.

To be honest, besides yourself, nobody will even notice a change in your physique after a month to 6 weeks.....you'll have to recondition yourself to train of course, and rebuild up to your old weights over the course of several weeks obviously, but appearance-wise, I am telling you, don't sweat a thing, you'll be fine.

Thinking outside the Lunch-Box

Nothing tastes better than a freshly made sandwich. Bring your (pre-sliced) ingredients separately and build your sandwich at work.

Always bring condiments separately – plastic bags and containers both work. Mustard, mayo, tomatoes and chutney won't make your bread soggy when they're added at the last minute.

Go outside and eat your lunch in a comfortable environment. You'll enjoy it more if you don't eat it at your desk.

Keep a bottle of hot sauce at work. It can perk up anything from a sandwich to a salad.

Add treats. A few pieces of dried apple or a small box of raisins go a long way toward curbing your sweet tooth.

Buy a nifty lunch box. It'll make any lunch more fun.

Every now and then, alternate your sandwich with something unexpected.

Lunch Ideas

Vary the bread on your sandwiches. Try pumpernickel with turkey, oat bread with tuna, rye bread for a turkey BLT, and sourdough with roast beef.

Try a wrap instead of a traditional sandwich. Wrap a wheat tortilla around roasted veggies or a spinach tortilla around meatloaf, or spread a soft corn tortilla with peanut butter and jelly before rolling.

Bring containers of dips, such as hummus or baba ghanoush, and veggies like celery and carrots to dip into it.

Keep a large bag of salad greens at home and fill a plastic container with them each morning. Try a different addition each day such as kidney beans, chickpeas, tuna, shredded carrots, chopped hard boiled egg whites, raisins, chopped roasted beets, water chestnuts or cucumbers. The juice of a few lemon wedges will make a simple and snappy dressing. (Read Salad 101 to get more salad savvy.)

Roast a chicken on Sunday and use it all week for lunch. Shred breast meat and toss with fat-free mayo, curry powder, chopped celery and radishes. Bring drumsticks along with fat-free salad dressing as a cool dip. Thigh meat is great in a corn tortilla with jarred salsa and shredded lettuce. And chopped leftover chicken can always be tossed with some frozen mixed vegetables. They'll defrost by the time you eat lunch and you'll have an instant chicken primavera salad. A little hot sauce makes a great dressing.

Make a pot of veggie chili over the weekend and bring it in a thermos for lunch. Top it with something new each day, such as fat-free shredded cheddar, chopped scallions, fat-free sour cream, shredded corn tortillas, chopped cilantro, chopped red onion, fat-free yogurt or a squeeze of lime juice.

A cored apple or pear stuffed with raisins and a little peanut butter or fat-free cream cheese makes a fabulous sandwich alternative.

Eat in season. Add a chopped peach to tabbouleh in the summer. Add fresh orange segments to a green salad in the winter.

Make new and exciting sandwich condiments. Blend jarred pimentos with fat-free mayo for a tasty spread. Mix curry powder into a little mango chutney for a condiment that goes with any meat. Make your own honey mustard without oil and just a little honey. And use sliced fruit, like plums, on sandwiches instead of sugary ketchup.

M5 - Turkey mignon - this sucker had under 300 calories, 8g fat, and a ton of protein. not too bad on sodium and soooo yum!

M6 - 100 calorie bag of popcorn

Drank almost three liters of H20 plus a ton of crystal light last night. Go me!

You realize those two words should not be allowed next to each other, lol, it is almost as bad as Boca and Burger.

I like your lunch ideas, I stick a little note in my hubby's and he says he looks forward to reading it every lunch hour so it makes him motivated to eat.

I especially like the idea to roast a chicken to use for the whole week!

I went tanning last night - It was soooo good. I wore SPF 4 if that makes a difference! I was really tired last night and instead of forcing myself to hit the gym, I went home after tanning. I did calf raises on my stairs and some lunges, gave myself a facial and painted my toes. Finally got a really great night of sleep!!! I feel re-energized and can't wait to hit the gym tonight. I want to slowly build up my cardio, but when it comes to legs, just real light stuff still. I'm not supposed to be lifting those heavier plates and I'm going to follow the docs orders.

Thanks BiggT and Bunny for the info. I need to shift into the right mindset and keep my diet in check and I should be fine. Maybe my body really does need this!!

I got up early today and made a homemade breakfast sandwhich (two eggs, two slices ham, two slices ezekial toast, low carb ketchup) for MEAL 1.

M2 - turkey w/lettuce and honey mustard on ezekial, large apple
M3 - 2 oz turkey with baby carrots and cucumber slices
M4 - fiber one with skim
M4 - ground sirlon burger with cauliflower and broccoli
M5 - TBD

Pay close attention to my cut for the show keeping in mind I just took about ~ 9 weeks off (scattered) in the past few months. I am PR'ing off the hook right now too :) :D
I KNOW what you are feeling, you WILL get over that hump ...the mental part stinks but don't stress about it too much ... keep the coritsol LOW heehee :D

Alright T, where are you? I had a really really great ground sirloin burger last night and thought I did ya proud - no boca burgers for this girl. I tried the birdseye steamperfect mixed veggies with it - broccoli, water chestnuts and carrots - I ate almost the entire bag myself!!

Meal 6 was two tbsp chunky ANPB

Somehow I missed a meal - no fiber one w/skim yesterday.
