Worst Workout Ever

Bro I hate to hear about all this puking and torture your putting yourself through. Like SL said I train fasted every day. Bcaa's and preworkout before bcaas during and oats boiled eggs and whites with protein shake after. I wake at 6 in gym by 630 ready to rock. Your torturing yourself for nothing. Take your multi any time later and make up calories within a specified window and repeat bro. It will work

Really? Are the BCAA's an integral part of this or could I get by without them using the protein shake, preworkout and water?

I wouldn't mind buying them if they are not expensive.

If I do grab BCAAs could you recommend a solid brand? Also should do I need to skip the protein shake for thus?

wow that sucks man sorry I had a similar thing happen once where I puked I was rushing to go somewhere and wanted food before I left. I stuff it down and puked a bit later. For a while it was hard to eat a lot after that

The 10 g of BCAAs ~15 min prior to training is discussed in that article that SL linked to earlier.

Basically at least one study has shown fasted training affects the post-workout anabolic response to weight training more favorably than fed-state training. Fasted training itself, however, is very catabolic. Therefore, in an effort to get the both of both worlds, so to speak, ingesting just 10g of BCAA will produce a stimulatory effect on protein synthesis and metabolism, without causing the body to produce the insulin etc which would switch the body over to a "fed-state."

Martin Berkhan, the guy recommending this strategy, does allow for a whey protein shake in the alternative, though it may not be "as optimal," as just straight BCAAs (quite a bit more glucose will find its way into the bloodstream). If you want to go that route, then you'll probably need to take about 40 grams of protein, since protein contains about 25% BCAAs.

After reading the article I did notice he kept mentioning an increased anabolic response to muscle growth. However, he did not mention anything about fasted training improving strength. I don't know if maybe this guy works till fatigue or something and therefore does not track his numbers but do you guys think that I would suffer strength loss by lifting in the AM fasted?

Martin is a big advocate of strength training. He has a 3x bodyweight DL for instance. That's very impressive considering he keeps his bodyfat in the single digits.

Heres the program he uses...

Funny thing is I've worked up to heavy 5s or 3s followed by back off sets instinctually with good results in strength and size. I haven't actually followed his training recommendations to the tee, but it seems legit.

IMO they very important I would not train fasted with out them after researching IFD (Intermittent Fasted dieting). Ck your PM's bro!

I wake up at 7:30 I normally at the gym by 8:30-8:40 but first thing I do when I wake up is get some oats going I just buy the packs of them and have a protein shake with water and then some no explode with water and I'm set normally all done eating by 7.45 I take animal pak as well but I dare not to try that tell I have a real food meal in me I would have blown chunks as well lol. But try less water u should get enough from ur shake and pre workout shake and when u workout drink water as well u should be g2g.

Its not called BREAK FAST it's called meal number 1... have a shake in the middle of the night when you wake up to pee and you'll never go into starvation mode
