I am going through the same sleep issues right now. I think its anxiety on my part. Lets hope it ends for both of us!

High levels of test make me wake up early, but I can always go back to sleep. I guess you could say that I dont sleep as well, but I still get my 8-10hrs in.

On my 7th week on tren and I'm starting to wake up after 4 hours of sleep....not kool....but I've also intensified my workouts so I'm wondering if that's the contributing factor...

Some hormones are worse than others... high-dose test and tren does it for me. I'm on 400mg/week of tren enth now, this is week 7 I believe. The strength gains have kicked in hard the past week or two, and so has the insomnia. I'm down to maybe 4hrs a night at best, the rest is broken up into 30 minutes or less at a time. I've got some valium on the way, but I have to take that very early or it leaves me groggy the next day, wish I could get some klonopin or even xanax instead, shorter halflife is almost always better with sleep-aids!

Insomnia / restless sleep impacts every aspect of my life. Recovery takes the biggest hit. In my case, it is anxiety that causes my bouts of insomnia. I have lived with it since my early 30's.

One of the potential sides of AAS is anxiety:

AAS Sides...

Some get anxiety while others do not. EQ is one that has been assiciated with the potential side of anxiety.

I doubt if it is the nolva. I have never heard or read of nolvadex causing anxiety.

Nolvadex sides...

Do you have a history of sleep probs?

If, no, then can you correllate the onset with the timeframe when your current cycle's peak level of test? (prob about 2 weeks into the cycle or so. There are others on this board that can nail this down given your cycle.)

This may also correllate with when you started the Nolva since this is when, what sounds like, your mild gyno symptoms started. This may be why your are inclind to suspect the nolvadex as the clupret.

Man I've always been a horrible sleeper. I get Ambiens from the Doc. But I swear this what helps me the most. Take 5HTP a couple hours before bed, it doesn't put you down it just improves your sleep quality. Then use Valerian Root Tincture(SP) Before bed. Tincture is a liquid, its broke down in vodka but the alcohol is evaporated out. The liquid works way better than the pills. This works better for me than the perscriptions. It keeps me from waking up so often. Good luck, insomnia is viscious on a person.

You can get the tincture from any herbalist, you won't find it at GNC or nothin though

It's the high level of test. Some ppl don't get it that bad but I know many ppl who smoke weed to calm down and get sleepy. Read some of the old school stories about Zabo Koszewski and how he used to smoke weed all day while working out all day every day. He's in every Cheech&Chong movie, they were all boyz and hung out at Gold's in Venice. Tons of BB smoke weed to combat the restlessness os aas. I'm not saying smoke weed, I'm saying that it is the test.

Don't feel bad bro. I'm with you on this too. Sleep has not come easy for me either during my cycle although I'm in my final week now so hopefully it will be easier once I go off. Nolva always keeps me up too. I started a thread a while back about the reaction I get to Nolva and you might be like me. Sometimes, try 2 Unisoms. That seems to help me sometimes. Good luck!

One of the side effects of testosterone HRT is the development of sleep apnea in some people. Given that most guys on a cycle are taking much higher doseages, I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't bringing on temporary apnea. The exact mechanism isn't known, but I suspect it caused by tissue swelling in the tongue and throat area. Plus guys with the typical weightlifter build (short, muscular neck, etc) are already structurally predisposed to apnea.

I can say I am in the same boat. I am on my first cycle of deca only and I started having problems sleeping when I got into week three at 400mg. I wake up at three every morning to piss and I have soooo many problems going to sleep after I get back to bed. I wake up an hour before my alarm goes off.

Also if you try the Valerian and 5HTP you should try "cycling" them. This is whow a nutritionalist explained it to me. Try taking them 5 days then don't take them for 2 days, also try to make it so your not off them both on the same days. On the days your off valerian try melatonin or unisom, as far as the 5HTP when your off that for 2 days there is no real substitue. Your body builds tolerance to these very quickly so if you just take them daily they will become uneffective quick, thew "cycling" keeps that from happening

well thnaks for all ur input just woke up froma nap and fuck do i fele great but i wish i knew what it was so i could counter act it to get the correct nights sleep.

Wouldn't it be possibly permanent obstructive sleep apnea, as the cessatation of androgens/AAS may not reverse the proliferated growth of tissue in the breething passages. This may be similar to changes in voice ie.deepening in females/males contributed by thickening of the chords in the larynx.
Surgery may in some individuals be the only viable option....Just wondering

Yep...Nolva can cause depression and sleep disturbances.....

Tamoxifen administration is associated with a high rate of treatment-limiting symptoms in male breast cancer patients.

Anelli TF, Anelli A, Tran KN, Lebwohl DE, Borgen PI.

Department of Surgery, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York, New York 10021.

BACKGROUND. Although an uncommon disease, male breast cancer (MBC) will be responsible for 300 deaths in 1993 in the United States. Because of the high rate of estrogen receptor positivity in males, adjuvant hormonal therapy with tamoxifen in the adjuvant setting has been used widely. Little is known about the side effects of this estrogen receptor blocker in males. METHODS. The authors evaluated the side effects of adjuvant tamoxifen treatment in 24 patients (19 of whom were estrogen receptor positive) treated at the authors' institution between 1990 and 1993. RESULTS. Fifteen (62.5%) patients reported at least one side effect. The most common side effect was a decrease in libido, which occurred in 7 (29.2%) patients; followed by weight gain, which occurred in 6 (25%) patients; hot flashes, which occurred in 5 (20.8%); mood alterations, which occurred in 5 (20.8%); depression, which occurred in 4 (16.6%); insomnia, which occurred in 3 (12.5%); and deep venous thrombosis, which occurred in 1 (4.2%). Five (20.8%) patients terminated treatment with tamoxifen in less than 1 year because of these side effects. Two of these patients had decreased libido, two had hot flashes, and one suffered deep venous thrombosis. CONCLUSIONS. In contrast to female breast cancer patients, who have a 4% attrition rate to adjuvant tamoxifen treatment, MBC patients have a 20.8% attrition rate related to side effects of tamoxifen treatment.

Test increases your respiration rate, and in many people increases the vagus nerve activity. THis increases anxiety and in turn affects sleep. I do remember reading a research paper that showed that testosterone injections in elderly people increased levels of sleep apnea. I suffer the same problem. The more test I use the more difficult it is for me to sleep. Hope this helps.
