Which would you choose...

If you could only fit so much food in your stomach, would it consist of high-quality foods with alot of protein, that keep your under your maintenance calories, or moderate/less protein in order to fit more caloric-dense foods into your stomach to overshoot your calorie needs?

This was assuming one was trying to bulk...
 
Hm, perhaps I've been putting too much of my focus on protein? There have been many days where I ate over 200+ grams of protein (and often rounding 300) but ate under maintenance calories (the protein came from tuna) and wound up with only slight gains, even though I felt I was eating enough.

I'm assuming this means calories prove more important in the quest for size.

calories do that indeed, it just depends on what kinds of calories you take in that dictate what kind of size you will pack on

Rather than looking at it that way, why not look at it this way: get enough total calories to gain weight, get enough complete protein relative to your lean weight and goals for adequate muscle fiber repair/supercompensation resources, enough total fat with some of it being saturated for Testosterone level maintenance, and enough clean carbs to serve as your primary source of energy, muscle glycogen replenishment/supercompensation and maintenance of a positive nitrogen balance to allow the protein you take in to be used for muscle fiber repair?

legion, I think you look into things too much. How old are you again? I think you said you were younger. Just eat often with variety and stick to a training program for more than a few months. And you will grow
