brown rice, easy for me to make a big pot on Sundays and use it through out the week.
Oatbran, I use it as a carb source in my morning shakes, raw. I prepare my shake at night, protein powder, oatbran and flax seed meal, leave it on my dresser, first thing after I wake up I just pour water and drink.
To me, convenience is the key. Rice does take time to cook, but it's really convinient for me to store it in the fridge and just worry about weighing the portions through out the week as I need them. I do the same with chicken.
