Where to insert my deadlifts in the programm?

I really love the deadlifts and want to incorporate them into my training split. Problem is - i don't really know to what muscle group should I relate the deadlifts? They seem to train a lot of stuff...i don;t think it would be right to do deadlifts on leg days, because they don't train legs all that much, but take energy from the legs. When do you usually do the deadlifts? On what days?

Back day for me. And DL does incorporate a lot of legs. Especially through the hamstrings. I don't have an issue doing DL after squats either. As long as I have a few exercises in between.

I will usually do the deadlifts on back days. It is good to make the legs work a little bit additionally apart from the purely leg days. Besides, I don't think it is good to do the deadlifts on leg days, because they are quite similar to squats, and I don't want to affect my squat performance by getting my legs tired to early.

Anyhow, it is a very good exercise that you can use whenever it feels best for you, but my personal recommendation would be the back day.

Deadlifts train your entire posterior chain. They train the hamstrings, glutes, lower back, lats, rhomboids and traps. They are a great exercise to incorporate on either your leg or back day.

I personally like to include them on my back day. I do them last in the workout when my back is pre-fatigued. They are a great 'finisher' to any back workout.
