What's the highest amount of carbs you have eaten consistently in a day?

I am trying to put on 10 pounds in the next 30 days. I have a bet with a friend. I am trying to kill the carbs. I have a pretty fast metabolism and I am 6"2. I weighed about 221 (abs are still there) the day we started the bet. I have already put on about 15 pounds since the beginning of the summer. Ten more pounds will be tough. I was curious as to what's the highest amount of carbs you guys have eaten every day for an extended period of time. I ate 1000g's of carbs today (fig newtons, grape nuts, orange juice, carb drinks, bagels, etc.). I am going to try to maintain this level and see what kind of size gains I am able to come up with. Like I said, getting fat is not a concern b/c I have a pretty intense metabolism. I am also staying low fat. When going this high with carbs too much fat will lead to a fat gain. I think I will keep a certain degree of leanness with this plan. My protein is around 300g's a day, my fat is around 40 g's a day. Let me know what you guys have experienced in this department.

i put on fat slowly but i looked alot bigger in clothes, but overall the fat gain was not worth the small amount of muscle gain. i had lost my cut stomach, it was still flat but i didnt have abs i was about 270 then now im about 225 with sixpack.

good luck with the diet though. i would drop the fats down some to like 10 -20 efa's. because you will have alot of excess carbs and the excess carbs will turn to fat. so you really dont need extra fat over your required efa's.

do a search on robert thorburn, its called the "glucose economy diet" his diet is very similiar

Thanks for the insight. If I start putting on fat too quickly I will modify it accordingly. I have already been eating about 600 g's of carbs a day, and I was losing weight! I dropped my fats so I could up my carbs and I lost about 6-7 pounds in about a week. This might also be due to the fact that I train with a pretty high volume and intensity level, I don't think I'm overtraining though because I am still getting bigger and stronger. I know they way I train requires a lot of calories. I have 250 g's of carbs pre-workout and 250 g's of carbs post-workout. That's half of my day right there. I think the timing of the carbs is important for putting on the right kind of weight. My recovery is better already. I feel fuller muscularwise too. If I didn't have a fast metabolism I wouldn't ever go this high, just wanted to give it a try. I'll do a search on that diet, thanks for the heads up on that. I'll keep you posted.

I was eating 500 grams of protein daily for 10 days gained 20 pounds. My morning meal was 10 scoops LaBrada Protein mixed with Milk, then ate 2 Chicken Burritos with Cheese and Sour Cream with salsa for late night snack and Eating bacon cheeseburger with tater tots for dinner.

Not the healthiest but I gained a lot of weight I wish I wouldnt have, but hell I wish you well good luck with the weight gain.

dont mistake water weight for fat though with 1000g's or carbs you should bloat up pretty heavily carboHYDRATE....well at least i would

Honestly, I want you to realize how lucky you are to be able to bulk on those kind of carbs. 1000, damn. I've gone as high as close to 500 a day for 3 months, and was steadily putting on muscle and fat.. probably at about the same ratio. I love eating so much, and if I could allow myself to eat that way and not get fat, all stress in life would seem so minor.

Like I said earlier, I have a pretty fast metabolism. I don't have any bloat so far, I actually look a little tighter. I guess my glycogen levels are finally full. I have been on this for 4 or 5 days now. My weight is up about 2 pounds, not nearly enough for my liking. I need to be putting on about 2 1/2 pounds a week or I will lose the bet.

Yeah, I do know it's pretty uncommon to be able to eat like that without gaining a lot of fat. It is nice to be able to not eat strict and still be lean, but is also makes it tougher to put on size. I actually get tired of eating sometimes, yeah I know that makes me sound like a bitch. My jaws get tired of chewing. The thing with eating that many carbs is that it's hard to eat complex carbs because they are so damn filling. I eat a lot of simple sugars, which I really don't like doing. I don't really have a choice though. I don't think I could eat that much oatmeal and other things that are high fiber. So far it seems to be going well though. I'll keep everybody posted.

We're of far opposite ends of the spectrum, then. Cause even when I'm bulking at about 4000 cal's(any more and I get fat as shit) I feel like I could eat double that no problem. It's a very psychological thing obviously. The grass is greener...
