whats the best hands down protein powder? carbs and protien?

drjus: You don't get it, do you? That's marketing ploy 101. By coming off as a champion of the people -- exposing "the bad guys" -- the reader believes the company is trustworthy and in turn, is more likely to buy from that company. So yes, they benefit BIG TIME by bashing the competition. Meanwhile, they're bigger crooks than any of them. Sorry bro, you've been had.

I would agree with that except for post workout. I really hate buying protein so if yoou have an alternative for a good post work out meal hook me up please. I have always felt that protein powders were pure shit and I try to stay away as much as possible.

That makes sense...but seriously, don't worry about what kind of protein supplement it is. I guarantee you that you are getting enough protein already through your diet. And you have to think about dehydration when you consume too much protein, which could actually end up hurting you. When you eat too much protein, your body has to get rid of the excess nitrogen (in the form of ammonia, toxic) and this makes the body also get rid of ALOT of water...which can dehydrate you...and we all know dehydration is horrible for muscle performance.

So, just make sure you're not getting too much, especially when you're paying for the extra. Try posting your diet and we'll see just how much protein you're getting.

I don't mean to insult all the guys that use protein supplements, or the HUGE protein supplement industry...but the way i see it, protein supplements are WAY overused!

actually i got the opposite feeling nelson...and so did my friends...they were all skeptical of the industry as a whole and now are totally turned off by it as i am also....so i have not been "HAD" they exposed a truth and now i stick to food for my nutrients!!! btw do you or do you not contest the accusations....whether it is a ploy or not...the article does make sense

Damn bro! You think that interview is REAL?!?

Typical TC Luoma move: Claim the person doesn't want to be identified. Sure, then he can be anyone! And in this case the guy being "interviewed" is TC Luoma himself. I'd bet my balls on it.

There are some snippets of truth interspersed throughout the article. That's what makes it so convincing. All good con men know that it's important to include some strong facts along with the bullshit. But the thrust of the piece is to get you AWAY form the competitors are more inclined to buy the "good stuff" form the honest folks at Biotest.

You've been conned dude. Don't feel bad. It happens to the best of us.

I know what I'm talking about in this area. Beieve me.

nelson,
conned....conned into what...i dont buy supplements!!! ive been conned into nothing....i dont even subscribe to the publication....i just happen to grab that for a plane ride cause it was the only mag in the stand of any interest to me! and when did i say i believed everything in the article....which i dont...i just thought the same as you...there are some VERY interesting points in it

Fair enough. But it shows that you bought the "concept", even if you didn't buy the "product." If it worked on you, you can imagine it worked on thousands of people who DO buy suplments -- as evidenced by the strong Biotest sales for things you can get elsewhere for a quarter of the price.

There is no difference in proteins. For the most part, every company uses the same shit from the same place. Some of the other Biotest products are pure snakeoil.

i see your point about the article...i just looked at it different and extracted the small points about the downsides to the industry...im a product of old school buddies that strictly just eat right no supplements and juice right....ive tried supplements and definitely didnt even get any sort of placebo effect from them....so like my buddies i stick to food....as for the article i agree with u the effect on the general public,
you seem to be pretty knowledgeable....
what are yours thoughts about the change in quality of the proteins used in metrx from its early days to now?
