what to eat before early morning workouts?

Ok that Waxy maize stuff seems to be worth trying when I bulk again.

If I normally consume 70 grams carb PWO, would I still use 70 grams of waxy? Or less if I was to re-eat 1 hour later.

Typically, as I do weights right before bed, I have been consume 70 grams carbs (oats) + 20 whey + 30 casein (and no meal 1 hour later), but after cutting is over, I want to see if the BCAA + waxy then meal later has better results.

This stuff sounds perfect for me!

So heres what I plan to do:

7AM - Wakeup
7AM - 30g's WMS standalone.
7:10 - 4 boiled eggs, 1 cup of oats (breakfast-10mins post WMS)
7:40 - 50mg's effedrine (preworkout, 30 mins after brkfst)
8:00 - Workout
9:30 - PWO shake. Consists of 600+ cals, 30gs WMS, 50gs whey protein, glutamine, and BCAA's.
10:00 - Heavy IHOP meal :). (Im bulking!!)

What would you say to that Mav? Sorry about all the questions lol. I really appreciate your help man, it makes all the difference!

waxy Maize Starch (WMS) its a hi molecular weight carb that passes tru your stomach and into your intestines much quicker than dextrose or malto. even tho its considered complex, it still raises insulin comparable to dextrose.

for an ecto, who has trouble grabbing enough calories this is great stuff. breakfast, pre-workout, post-workout.

from everything I've read you should have it standalone (empty stomach and then wait 10 minutes or so) to make maximum advantage of its quick absorption/digestion properties. Another school of thought says take it with BCAA and micronized creatine - neither will much affect the osmolality of the WMS, and the WMS will pull those nutrients into your muscles better and faster than other carb sources. Whey is a close 2nd choice.

Another study that observed glycogen synthesis rates in rats following starvation showed that HMW glycogen was initially synthesized at a faster rate than low molecular weight glycogen. (8) However, blood sugar and insulin levels were not statistically different between the HMW carbohydrate (Waxy Maize) and the glucose solution. What this means is that despite being a complex carbohydrate, the HMW carbohydrate still raised insulin levels to about the same level as dextrose. We're dealing with a complex carbohydrate that powers through the stomach, causing no bloating, and reaches the blood stream as fast as dextrose; yet, it restores glycogen 70% faster.

I'm not sure about pricing, I get anything generic like this from Bulknutrition, and usually find them less expensive then other suppliers and their stuff is high quality.

- you can use it when cutting as well, since postWO carbs will go to glycogen replenishment and not fat storage - this according to theory and my experience

-yes 70gr=70gr same

looks good! you mite consider 30gr WMS + BCAA/Glutamine immediately POstWO, wait 10min, then do another 30gm WMS and 50gr Whey. that'll get you to about 60gr total PostWO carbs. Then maybe wait 45-60 min or so instead of just 30 before the IHOP feast especially if it'll be hi-fat

dam I'm salivating just thinking about IHOP lol

I'm sure it works cutting. My problem is that I will get hungry afterwards, and struggle to sleep as a result. I'm use to eating large volumes, so when I cutting I water saturated oats or even pumpkin are the PWO carbs that will prevent any hunger pangs

Since I haven't lost muscle on the current protocol, I will stick with it while hungry - but thanks heaps for the recommendation. Look forward to trying the bulk in 4-6 weeks
