What machines do you like?

Weight-assisted dips/pullups. I don't have the strength (or have too much body fat ;-) to do dips or pullups, so doing this with part of my body weight compensated still lets me hit this motion.
My abs never went anywhere until I started training them with weights. I like the Nautilus ab machines, particularly the torso twister and the chair. I've maxed 'em both out so I guess I have to find some other ab challenge...
Cable work on the universal, specifically tri pulldowns, lat pulldowns, and rows. I prefer DB rows but mix in the cable rows sometimes. I don't know if cable work counts as a "machine".
Nautilus Super-Overhead. Is there a corresponding free weight movement like this one? I find this is great for the last movement on back day for some more last work.

If I had a huge room with tons of free machines and sets of bands for each machine...I'd use a machine at the end of every workout, for whatever body part(S) I am training that day.

I'd love to have:
Shoulder Press Machine
Reverse Hyper
Glute Ham Raise (with all the dressings)
Chest Supported Row
T Bar Row
Leg Press

...if they were all free and came band/plate loaded already.

Yeah that leg press is horrible at commercial gyms cause they unload it or only leave 2 plates a side, so anyone with even moderate strength has to spend an hour loading the fucker lol!!!

smith machine for curls and powercleans

hammer strength kickback

plate loaded static grip hold machine is pretty sick too

I could use the leg press to hold my gym bag and the weight tree on it to hold plates...but I do think that just loading a couple plates on it and then loading it up with band resistance and doing high reps would help some of my strongman events...and for calf raises. I just would never shell out the $$$ to buy one.

on a serious note I like the smith machine for BTN shoulder presses. I do my calf raises in there too although I dont choose to do that theres just no calf raise machine. Leg Press is another of my favourites. Leg Curl is pretty good, so is the seated shoulder press machine as a finisher to get a burn going. Used to love leg extensions but not really anymore. Cable Crossovers are one of my favourite chest exercises and thats in the cable station so guess it could be counted as a machine too. Seated cable rows are one of my favourite back exercises aswell.

There are some other machiens I would like to try but my gym doesnt have them...

I like machines because they get the muscles pumped and all and can be great for some things, but honestly I put so much energy into my core lifts that I usually am too tired for machines. The one I like though is the leg press, there is something cool about being under a shit ton of weight like that, and I am sore today after doing them first time in a while. However loading it sucks......

what do you think loading is like for guys who squat and deadlift 600+ pounds? Don't bitch about loading a leg press machine. It's not hard at all regardless of how much weight you're using. Unless you're mentally ill, it's not going to take over a minute, minute 30 tops

Lol most guys who squat and deadlift 600+ have other guys training with them to load it:) Plus I can leg press a hell of a lot more than 600, it's just not worth the time it takes to load it....and you definitely are not one to talk about bitching jdid :lmao: Bitching about not having a video camera for the contest with em hahahahhaha
