What is the *Best Tasting* Protein Bar?

Guys, can you help me decide on buying the BEST TASTING protein bar. I'm not too worried about content so long as it has ample protein, good carbs and minimal sugar - if possible.

* But seriously it just has to TASTE GOOD. I cant stand to bear some of these bars. I've tried a few EAS bars and they taste like pure crap  which is weird cause their drinks are so tasty so please no eas listings.

Which protein bars actually taste good (if there are any)??????

Thanks!!

detour bars are pretty good. Even my gf likes them and she doesn't care about healthy eating at all.

UMMM...DUH??????? Probably because they are complete JUNK, loaded with sugar, and coated with hydrog. oils????? Think that could be it?

detour bars get my vote. I never eat bars anymore. I do eat a balance bar before practice sometimes.. They taste ok.

I tried U-turn today. that ish is nasty as hell too!
it's nastier than EAS bars and has way more sugar and fat.

no more protein bars for me unless I'm dyin somewhere. :worried:

ALL protein bars are filled with shit and some protein. Nobody I would hope is eating them because they think it's a healthy choice. Just a way to get more protein. I apreciate the sarcasm though, so funny.

I like the oneway bars with coconut. WOuld like to try the trioplex chocolate coconut ones too.

you'd be surprised how many think some bars are nutrionally.....extra protein? It's shit grade protein.......eat some chicken.........

I think that most of us realise this, we eat them more to satisy our sweet cravings instead of eating regular chocolate bars, and chips and junkfood etc.

yeah, exactly; the problem is that it's hard to get ample protein from anything when your on the go.

I only eat it if Im ass out on the go, because of the protein grams I want to maintain in all of my meals.

Back to the question at hand, when bulking and craving some sweets I like Labrada Lean Body Gold bars, caramel almond flavor. They really do taste great. It tastes sort of like a snickers only it has 30 g protein.

IMO Tri-o-Plex Oatmeal Raisin bars are the best tatsting "Protein" bars ever made. They are absolutely delicious. As for the accuracy of the impressive label claims, if it walks like a delicious cinnamon roll, talks like a delicious cinnamon roll.......
I think you get the point. I have never heard of a chicken breast and cup of broccoli with inflated label claims.

EAS Carb sense peanut butter and chocolate..............reputable company, low carb, 30g of protein, 1g of sugar and my pre-workout staple as of 1 week ago...love em

tri-o-plex got nailed about it's bs label claims http://www.labelclaimstesting.com/?pageID=1 sorry to spoil anyone's fun, but we all need to know. i bought some labrada lean body gold bars today in the caramel and peanut variety. tasted aswesome and i snagged them for .56 per bar at gnc. they're normallt 3 bucks, but were 1/2 price being close to date. i'm friends w/ the mgr, so she hooked it up for another 1/2 off, plus gold card discount. the nutrional value isn't the best i've ever seen, but for the taste and price, it's a fun and easy way to squeeze 30 grams of protein into my diet between meals.

well if you start doing the math on a lot of nutrtion labels of food you will find out that a lot of the have errors.ex 4 cal per gram of carb,9 for fat etc..you will find that the calorie content is different. Again supplements are not passed by the fda so a lot of shakes, and powders can be erroneous. But of course thre are the analisis wich is usually done on a couple of them by the company.

my point we can't worry about it so much if we just try to eat them insted of a snickers or a sugar loaded protein bars.

Why risk it then chief? Have some oats, milk or eggs and be satisfied that you know what you are eating..........'

BTW - when figuring calories of a label, you still need to add in the sugar, sugar alcohols, fiber, etc...........

I don't use bars much....only when I need to grab something quick and/or to keep my protein grams where they need to be....

Also, I usually have a shake after my workout, but if that's not feasible, it always easy to whip out the melted protein bar that's been in the gym back for a few weeks...psychologically I think it takes the pressure off to get that protein rush at the end of the workout...

Problem is these these thing$ are expen$ive....I typically eat the PowerBar Protein Plus that I buy by the box at Sam's Club....works for me...alot of sugar though.

NO way am I forking out more than a buck or so for basically a candy bar on steroids...

Peak Body makes a bar called the MegaPro 50 that contains 50g of protein per 100g bar. It comes in peanut and choco flavor at my local gym. It tastes pretty good for a protein bar. And it only has 13.5g of carbs. I think it's frickin' cool because I don't have time to eat 4 or 5 meals a day...

I'd like to think I know my supplements and companies, but PeakBody is one I've never heard of....must be an overseas company?

I live in Germany currently so it's probably a European brand. I think it comes from the U.K. as the packaging is all in English. It's really one of the better bars.

real protein makes a decent peanut butter flavor...they're choc. rum cake wasn't bad at all, either. no collagen, which most bars have. price was like 3 bucks, but i always get them close to date for about a buck.

I just tried a NitroTech double chocolate today. It gets my vote.

Anybody have an opinion on CarbWise Gold Chocolate Caramel Peanut flavor?
They taste really good but now that I read this I don't know if they're actually "good" anymore...
I keep a box at my desk for my afternoon snack, I used to do tuna but got a lot of complaints ;)
Any other idea's for healthy snacks that can be kept in a desk drawer (and DON'T require mixing)?

the body pro 50 bar has:

calories 299kcal
protein 50 g
carb 13.5 g
fat 8 g
fibre 1 g
sodium 100mlg

think they are an english company as you can get them over here haven't tried yet but was going to give them a go for when i miss meals ect...

i eat maxs CVGM bars taste good, prob a bit too much sugar but tastes good with heaps of protien and low fat

oh yeah......with out a doubt, they taste like a BabyRuth...im not even lying.
People say detours tasted like Snickers....they didnt....but Oh Yeahs actually taste waaaaaaaay too good, i would eat them as munchies food when i used to smoke, they were that good. ITs the only bar i would buy if i bought bars.

Havent bought bars or powder in DAYS, been on while food for about a year only.

i got some zero sugr and low carb bars...by the case............hmmmmm...esp. frozen chock carmel...ABB....discontinued!

Tri-o-plex cookies are the bomb, honeslty, a candy bar and a little extra protein is no different except it taste 100x better....think about it.....have a meal, then if you still need it, have a decent candy bar
