was the second time. he said that he thought i had a strain/tear of the (some scientific name).

he gave me my second adjustment and now there's no pain. before, when i moved, that muscle would tighten up and be weak. now it moves slowly when it should. he twists me into a pretzel and cracks my back. these kind of adjustments are going to go on for about a month, 2 times a week. they are supposed to loosen up the muscles of the lower back so the body can heal itself quickly. after that, we are going to do some different stuff (i think) to rehab it and strengthen it so it doesnt happen again.

i also did some broomstick squats and deads and he really helped me with my form. i thought i was doing things right, but then again, i lift by myself and can't watch myself. he's NSCA certified so he's knowledgeable about lifting and knows where i'm coming from. he's a pretty big (strong) and lean so he's not some fat old bastard quoting from 1930 material/lifting myths with no experience. i might have lucked out and got a good chiro. like every other profession, i'm sure there are some stinkers out there.

it looks like a very interesting/rewarding career. something i would probably like to get into, if it weren't for all the schooling, debts because of school, constant qualification, stress level?, etc.

just thought i'd share my experience/ start a discussion

I'm also coming off a lower back injury and I also use a broomstick! My back feels so much better after doing two sets of broomstick deadlifts! I've never done the movement ever in my lifting career (probably why I ended up injurying my weak lower back) and I have to say I love the way it feel!

Good luck to ya bro,

T

thanks guys

after a calendar year, i should've been healed and burned off the extra fat i gained about 3-4 months ago. there's now no pain because of those adjustments but now i gotta rehab/strengthen

When I was about 17 I hurt my low back in a car accident. I went through a ton of physical therapy and rehab. I came back to the gym after three months and was squatting 75 more lbs. Sometimes the smallest muscles that we don't even realize we have make a major difference.

update:

friday is my last scheduled appointment. before, my legs were different lengths and my posture was out of whack. everything is now damn near normal and there's no pain/tightness at all. pretty much back to normal.

very good news for me :D
